In this enthralling series on Abu Bakr, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi continues his talk on the battles of Ridda. We are introduced to another false prophet- Tulayha Al Asadi who was key in the battle of the Trenches but accepted Islam later and then made huge contributions in the battles of Yarmouk and Qadisiyah. In this talk, Shaykh explores the people who regarded themselves Muslims but did not give Zakah and how Abu Bakr RA addressed and raised concerns about this issue and how it was sorted eventually. Differences in interpretation are discussed at length which make it clear how the events that led to refusal of Zakah by the Muslims transpired. Citing a connect between Eeman and Amal, the incidents that happened are shed light upon. We are also acquainted with the types of people in connection with Eeman and Amal: Believe and Action - True Muslims Lack of Belief or Action - Non Muslims Belief is prevalent but Lack of Actions - Hypocrites What is required from Zakah and Salah to be a Muslim? This question has been answered with support from the Qur'an through various pairing up of verses. The conversations between Umar RA and Abu Bakr RA, Khalid Ibn Waleed and Malik Ibn Nuwayra, the Chieftain of Banu Tamim is given a mention and how it sows the seeds for laying importance on the giving of Zakah and how blood money is only paid to Muslims, showing the status of people who refused to pay Zakah. The Shaykh explains that people who withhold Zakah due to greed will be classified as sinners and rebels.

Shaykh Yasir Qadhi discusses the need of the hour and the revival of the legacy of our beloved Prophet ﷺ - building women friendly mosques and hence, empower women to also have equal rights to enter the Masaajids. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said "Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from the Mosques of Allah." As opposed to the ancient times, when women were never allowed to enter a Masjid and pray in tranquility,times have changed for the better. People are striving to get women to frequent the Mosques and it is a prominent and welcoming change. Hence, the onus is now on the Islamic heads and authorities to ensure that the mosques are women-friendly and that women are as involved as men in the decision-making process of the mosques. This is best achieved by appointing women in the governing bodies of the mosques.

This has to end if we are to present before our future Ummah, a religion that is laced with peace and mercy and it is a religion that needs to be spread all over the world to have some hope of recovery from the vices of people of power.

In this interesting talk, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi directs his discussion on two fundamental aspects - issue of Fadak and the Battles of Ridda. We understand that an agreement was mutually consented on between the people of Fadak and the Prophet ﷺ for avoiding an attack and how the remuneration received was utilized by the Messenger ﷺ for the betterment of the Ummah. Also, issues pertaining to inheritance of the wives and the daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, Fatima RA are elaborated in the talk by the Shaykh. The next point of discussion is the role played by Abu Bakr RA in dealing with this and how it affected the relation between Fatima RA and Abu Bakr RA. The next topic that the Shaykh delves into is the battle of Ridda and the reasons for its commence. The acceptance of Islam by many tribes was never for their love of Eeman and Islam. They had hidden intentions some of which were: Reintroduction of Jahiliyyah and idolatry. Introduction and belief in new Prophets in spite of behaving entirely like Muslims such as Musaylamah and Sajjah. Cessation of Zakat amongst people. Stories and incidents during this battle are explained in great detail whilst highlighting the eminence and role of a great warrior known for his military tactics and prowess, Khalid Bin Waleed RA.

Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi commences part four on the life of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq [RA} by divulging important information regarding the Khilafa of Abu Bakr [RA], who was appointed as "Khalifatu Rasulullah". Also, Shaykh shares with us the incidents of the "Army of Usama ibn Zayd" and Ali RA not giving his Bayyah (allegiance) to Abu Bakr RA and also facts about what led to reversal of this decision. A brief biography of Usama ibn Zayd is reflected upon which includes his lineage, his family and his nickname. The Shaykh then describes the key points of the army of Usama Ibn Zayd of whom he was appointed the leader. Hadiths are shared at this point in the lecture which authenticate the above statements. Clearly, the decision was met with criticism considering his age and maturity on the topic of war. It is at this time that Abu Bakr RA advice was sought and he dealt with this pressing issue in the most powerful, delightful and sane manner possible as you shall confirm when you hear the talk. The next topic discussed is that of Ali RA not giving his allegiance to Abu Bakr RA until six months. Here, we get our attention drawn to various Hadith highlighting the issue of allegiance, the conditions during which allegiance is said to have happened and and how finally, there was acceptance and allegiance sworn to the Khilafa of Abu Bakr, Umar ibn al Khattab and Uthman ibn Affan [radhiAllahu anhum ajma'een].

In this enlightening video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi uncovers the blessings and battles concerning the Great Sahaba and the first Caliph - Abu Bakr As Siddiq RA. Numerous facts and Hadith come to light as we see Shaykh Yasir unravel them in a mesmerizing manner. Some among them are Participation in every battle that the Prophet ﷺ was a part of. Comparison of Prophet Isa AS and Abu Bakr RA regarding softness in character and behavior during the battle of Badr. Strong defense of the Prophet ﷺ in the battle of Uhud even after facing disagreement from the opposing Sahabas. Display of huge amount of sadness and regret on the issue of slander of Aishah RA during the Battle of Khandaq. So much so that Allah (SWT) revealed Surah Nur to set the matter to rest after having revealed verses clarifying the matter and clearing Aishah RA of any misdeed. Advice to the Prophet ﷺ in the battle of Hudaibiyah to only fight when the situation demanded and also where Abu BAkr RA displayed anger in the wake of absolute necessity and not for the sake of it. Competition with Umar RA regarding the maximum charity of wealth at Tabuk and also where he asks the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to make dua for rain to occur. Display of anger towards Aishah RA for having raised her voice against the Prophet ﷺ.
