Segment 1
Benny Hinn should go to the RNC and heal Trump’s ear, what a sight that would be. -Anonymous
I’m Jesse from Pennsylvania, born and raised Amish with six children ages 19 to 4. I don’t believe the Amish meet the New Testament definition of Church. I think it’s a cult. My wife thinks my conversion is my willful purchase of a ticket to Hell. Do I allow my wife to teach my children the Amish way for unity in marriage, or teach them something different? I’m still attending the Amish church because going elsewhere means my family will likely kick me out. But if the Amish aren’t a true church, am I not going to church at all? I wasn’t saved when baptized – does this mean I’m not baptized at all? HELP! -Jesse
Could I please get your thoughts on tattoos? I know there is a prohibition against them in Leviticus, but it seems to have been for the Jews at that time. -Nate
Segment 2
Would you say someone who is a devout Catholic would be considered a Christian? (Are they saved?) -David
Segment 3
I’m reading a book by a dead Puritan who says that if even one sin is loved in the heart, that we are not saved. How do I know if I love one, single sin in my heart when I am not at all good at introspection? -Steve
Todd, my wife (of 24 years) and I recently experienced a miscarriage and two still births. After the second still birth, she went to a pretty dark place. She spends hours everyday, studying the Bible, but she now says that despite being a Christian as long as I’ve known her, she’s not sure she is saved. She believes in the God of the Bible, but she says she doesn’t trust Him to save her. She spends most days broken and crying, and it’s taking a toll on the whole family. -Tim
Segment 4
I’ve noticed since starting university that I sometimes shake hands with women without thinking, but then feel it’s disrespectful as I view handshakes as masculine. Is it wrong to see it this way and is my dislike for gender role blurring going too far? -Anonymous
If church is to be done God’s way, where should a Christian fall on the family integrated movement where children should not be separated from their parents during the church service? What about other weekly programming? The family integrated movement has some very compelling arguments but so few churches seem to go this way in practice. -Dustin
I am employed at a library and am in charge of the Young Adult section there. While I have found it opens some doors to speak about what I believe, as a Christian I do struggle with what to do about some of the books in the collection. Many on the shelves are LGBTQ related and I am tasked with promoting them. I do not recommend books to purchase if they are LGBTQ, but the ones we have already I have to put on display sometimes. As a Christian how do I handle this? – Anonymous Young Person

If my job is asking me to work 12 hour shifts, but my wife is asking me to stay home more to help with our kids, how do I make a biblical decision? I have to provide for our needs and pay off debt, but should I work to the point that I’m not around as much for my family? -Anonymous
My nephew is 15 years old. He is struggling with porn addiction. Perhaps also a victim, but will not share if he is. Do you have any advice on how we can help him? -Esther
Are angels also created in the image of God? Aren’t they relational, and have wills just like humans? -Jess
Segment 2
I was wondering how did you meet Ray Comfort? -Douglas
So, why is abortion or trans the only moral dilemma on the ballot for many Christians? -Nathan
Segment 3
Even though I know that God is real and that Jesus Christ is my friend – sometimes I feel like he’s just my imaginary best friend. How do I stop feeling like Christ is just an imaginary friend even though I know he’s real? -Anonymous
I help out at the baptistry at my church. Recently 4 boys around age 7 were baptized after their time at VBS. I have a hard time believing a 7 year old understands the meaning of repentance and what baptism means. I mean, at age 7 I still thought Batman was real. What is the proper age for one to be baptized? -Vince
Segment 4
What’s the Christian perspective on black holes? Are they real? If so, why would God create them? -Anonymous
What is a Biblical way to think about dying hair, botox, and plastic surgery? I am noticing more older women at my church doing these things. Are these things ever not vain? How can I cultivate a Godly view of appearance and bodies as I age? -Jessi
I often struggle with grogginess and brain fog in the mornings, especially during allergy season, and I’m wondering if I should still start each day in God’s Word, even though I struggle to focus and think clearly under these conditions, or should I wait for a time later in the day when it’s not as much a problem? -Jack
As a parent of young children, I am conflicted on spanking. I think the Bible didn’t accidentally use “the rod” to represent discipline, but most of my Christian friends purposely avoid “hitting their kids” because they say spanking is abuse. Are they right?? -Abby
I have a dear family member who believes that the Disney corporation is Satanic. I disagree with her. She believes it is wrong to take a vacation to Disney World and give that corporation money. I believe that it is a point of Christian liberty, that she shouldn’t if it is against her conscience, but I can since it is not against mine. Is this really a point of liberty, or am I in the wrong? -Anonymous

Segment 1
I’m wondering about the depth of financial transparency a church should provide to its members, specifically regarding staff salaries. Some churches show only the total sum of all staff salaries in their budget, while others list each staff member’s salary individually. I’ve seen both approaches in different churches. Intuitively, full transparency seems ideal, but maybe there are aspects I’m not considering. Although it’s not a top-tier issue, I believe it’s still important to address. What are your thoughts on the appropriate level of financial disclosure in church budgets? -William
I have been experiencing fear and distrust in myself when confessing my sins, as I struggle to believe that I am truly repentant. This fear leads to obsessive thoughts and repetitive Scripture quoting. How can I find assurance of forgiveness and maintain intimacy with God despite my struggles with fear and doubt? – Mitchell
Segment 2
Are you struggling with assurance? Maybe you need to hear this…
Does God withhold blessings due to sin? I’m struggling with the fact that I desire a wife and children, but haven’t received these blessings, despite seeing others with the same sins who have. I don’t want to covet, yet I can’t help but wonder why this is happening. -Ephraim
Can you discuss how male church leaders should handle and address interactions with females? I’m curious because I saw an elder from my church meeting alone with a college girl for coffee. They were talking in a semi-secluded area, and the conversation was mostly the girl sharing personal issues, with the elder listening and offering basic Christian advice. Is it unwise for him to meet alone with a girl half his age? Should he have directed her to a female leader? As church leaders are held to a higher standard, I’d appreciate your view on whether this situation appears unwise or gives the appearance of evil. -Anonymous
I have a concern about my daughter, who’s in her early 30s and engaged: She and her fiancé plan to travel together for three weeks in South America, prior to their marriage. While they assure me of their honorable intentions, I’m troubled by this and their resistance to my counsel. Do you have any advice you can offer for handling my discomfort, especially since I can’t prevent them from going? -Anonymous
Segment 3
I attend a great confessional church where we stand for the Doxology, but we remain seated during the reading of God’s Word. This practice has been bothering me. I know there’s a risk of elevating confessions and creeds above the Bible, and while I’m not suggesting my church is doing this, it does raise questions for me. What’s your perspective on this practice? -Michelle
Do you think it’s wise to have a term limit for elders and deacons? -Josh
I keep getting told by everyone that my main issue is I lack confidence. I try to avoid boasting about myself, but both in job searches as well as dating, it seems to stand out as a detriment as if I am weak or unmanly. Any advice in this regard. -Anonymous
Segment 4
Within the past year or so, I have been learning more about correct theology, and have realized that the church I’ve been attending since I was 8 years old (I’m now 21) is a false church. One of the secondary problems I have with the church is their stress on the King James Version of the Bible. They believe that if you don’t have a 1611 KJV Bible then you don’t have a Bible at all, and any other translations are satanically driven to deceive believers. Do you believe that this alone is reason enough to leave this church? -Daniel
If you feel like you are going to die, so you pray and tell God that you promise to change your bad behavior, and lo and behold you slip up and once again do that very thing you promised you wouldn’t!!! What is the scriptural answer? -Anonymous
As believers in the Trinity, when we pray, how should we address the Lord properly? We’ll say things like, “in Jesus’ name”, but aren’t we praying to Jesus? And do this “by your Spirit”, but aren’t we also praying to God, the Holy Spirit? -Jonah
What are your thoughts on James 2:24, which states ‘man is justified by works, and not by faith only’? I’m struggling to reconcile this with other teachings in the New Testament. Can you help me understand it better? -Levi
I’ve been constantly rejected when trying to date and it makes me sad and hurt. How can I overcome these feelings and find value in Christ instead of relationships? Are my priorities out of order? -Mike

At what point can the biblical/christian view of self preservation and general living be unbiblical? Are we called to be educated affluent Christians who live relatively comfortable and easy lives while serving through our local churches? -Gordon
Is it a sin for a woman to be a professor in a Christian university and teach something like apologetics? -Jess
Segment 3
My husband and I have a son who is 2 years old, I’m almost 35, and we’re feeling unsure about having any more children. Partially due to my age, but also because of simply not wanting any more! We also feel conflicted about not giving our son a sibling. I know it may be a silly question, but do you believe there are biblical reasons to try to have more than one child? -Emily
Segment 4
I have been struggling with intense burnout at work. I dread going in every day. What is the Biblical way of dealing with something like this? I know I shouldn’t grumble, and God has placed me at this job, but the struggle is real. -Tatum
Was that really Phyllis Diller on Tuesdays program, or was it AI? – David
I am trying to work hard at school for the glory of the lord but I keep on failing to reach the best grades. What should I do as a young Christian? -Anonymous

I have a married friend who says that she doesn’t want to have her own biological children because pregnancy sounds bad. She says she would rather adopt children instead. I don’t know how to encourage her or what to pray for her concerning this. Is she wrong to not want her own biological children? -Adrian
There is a deacon in my church who always makes sarcastic comments. It seems like about everything. While I understand sarcasm, I also don’t believe Sunday morning worship to be the time or place for it. Any suggestions on how I can approach him about this? -Willam
Segment 3
My dad recently said that he thought pastors should talk about the news and politics from the pulpit. Is that biblical? -Kaleb
Segment 4
A ministry that I have supported for years has announced that it will invest in AI that is supposed to teach others the Gospel. Their goal, they say, is to “amaze” people with this, and they claim the church will be left behind unless we invest in AI like everyone else is doing. I feel opposed to this because I believe the Bible is clear about humans discipling other humans. I also worry that this ministry is exhibiting worldly thinking. -Justin
I was just wondering if you had any advice on dealing with grief over apostate friends? -Joe
There are many programs and educational institutions that charge money to understand the Bible (seminaries, colleges, etc) Is there anywhere in the Bible that prohibits financial transactions or the charging of money to others who want to better understand the Bible? Should not the understanding and study of the word be given freely? -Anonymous
Our adult daughter has self identified as transgender and self diagnosed with multiple personalities. Our question is how do we Biblically navigate this? We cannot agree with her lifestyle and for the safety of our younger children feel we must keep her at arms length. Any advice? -Anonymous

Why can’t we let go of coffee for a few hours on Sunday morning? Why do we need to be sipping coffee during the service? In my opinion, coffee in the sanctuary, is in some ways irreverent to God. -Marion
I am an 18-year-old college student who’s aspiring to go into the mission field. I understand that to be a missionary, I need to be an elder-qualified man. However, throughout my entire life, even after I was saved, I’ve struggled with lust and pornography. I’ve grown in self-control and faith, but still battle with it. Does this make me unqualified for eldership/missions? If not, how can I know I am qualified? -Ashton
Segment 2
I work a retail job, where the company supports the LGBTQ, but the company has not required us to participate or support in any way. But I also struggle with whether working there I might be sinning. -John
Segment 3
A lady I work with was upset over her sick dog. Someone wrote “Jesus loves you” on a post-it note and put it on her desk. She went to human resources complaining. I being the resident Christian got blamed, called into the office and told that I may not discuss religion or politics at work. The guy that actually wrote the note was given a day off without pay. Can they do this? Can they legally put a gag order on me? -Jim

Wondering what to do in sharing with my dad on the sufficiency of Scripture. Though he claims to be a believer he doubts its sufficiency because it was written by men. I have shared with him the passages like 1 Tim. 3:16 and others, but he basically wants a resource outside of the Bible to claim that the Bible is true. -Brandon
Segment 3
Is it a sin to open a coffee shop inside of a church? -Anonymous
I’m at a loss with my 19-year-old son! He’s always been very structured, with the motto “I date for marriage, not for fun!” But now in college, he’s thrown that out the window, lost his virginity, and is obsessed with his girlfriend. We’ve talked to him, but everything goes in one ear and out the other. I kinda just want to punch him in the forehead! Any suggestions? -Aliah
Segment 4
I’m struggling with a church decision to grant our senior pastor a summer sabbatical. The plans involve mostly traveling out of the USA and around the USA, with some time for hobbies and family. Please note that this pastor makes significantly over $100K a year and has a generous vacation plan in a church of only 250 people. I was taught that a sabbatical is a rest from regular work, used to study and grow, and that one should come back with a new perspective or a book they’ve written. I’m not okay with vacationing being the dominant part of the time off. Maybe I have the definition wrong. -Richard

I’m currently in a branch of the military and I’m thinking about my career. In the future I could possibly have a chance at being my branch’s version of a drill instructor or that person whose really mean and yells at people. What would Jesus’s opinion be about a Job that requires you to insult, frighten, shock, and generally be mean to people trying to join the military. -Nate

My wife and I began visiting a PCA church in 2020. In late 2021, my wife had a miscarriage and we have not been able to conceive since. It is hard to be encouraged when you are reminded that all other church couples have been blessed with a child after losing yours. Church events are all kid-centered, and for the last family picnic, there was an email correction sent the day before saying that those without kids could also attend. We felt like an afterthought. What can I do? Is there room for my church to improve? -Ben

Segment 1
My pastor has mentioned Philippians 3:8 multiple times in sermons over the last few years, and every time he says that “skubalon” is translated to the swear word that refers to dung. Is that really accurate? I’ve seen articles that are both for and against that translation.
My pastor is about 2 years in, and has declared that Christmas and Easter are now “dedicated to non-believers.” For the last 2 years, He has instituted a full on festival, complete with petting zoo, rides, free food etc… in order to draw unbelievers in to preach the gospel to them. Obviously the preaching of the gospel is the priority, but am I wrong for feeling a bit uncomfortable with the marketing of our church with worldly bait? -Cade
I am a stay-at-home-mom and am typically home when Jehovah’s Witnesses or Mormons come to my door. Every time we interact, I am left with a mix of excitement and sadness. I feel like I didn’t say all the things that needed to be said. How can I best evangelize to groups who think they know Jesus and admit to being sinners, but are so deceived by their respective organizations? -Kelley
Segment 2
I live in Canada where the idea of “medical assistance in dying” is quickly becoming normalized. How should we respond to a medically assisted death in the family? Should we attend the funeral or not? -Myah
I am currently active duty and I’ve been in service for over 7 years. Throughout my time in the military, it has been a very spiritually dark and sinful place. Over the years, I’ve been able to ‘give a defense for the hope that is within me,’ and earned respect from the unsaved for not capitulating. But my heart aches from the constant dishonoring of God and blasphemy. I don’t shrink back from a fight or a hard conversation about the things of God, but since I’ve had to harden towards it to survive, I fear that I’m dishonoring Him by not getting hurt enough to ask them to stop. How do I stand strong in a culture where there is so much blatant dishonoring toward God? -Zach
Segment 3
Is it wrong to check my spouse’s phone without their permission or them knowing? I know there should be a certain amount of accountability, but I feel guilty after looking at his phone and end up apologizing to him. My husband is very trustworthy and has never done anything to make me question his faithfulness. -Alexandra
How can Protestants celebrate Holy Week? -Anonymous
Around certain holidays, like Easter, some churches in our area come together and have community services. This bothers me because they are of different denominations and smacks of ecumenism. I can see how they could all come together to serve, but a worship service? Not so much. How do you view such services? -Beth
Segment 4
From a biblical perspective, how do you know if she is “the one” to marry? -Gabe
I’m a pastor’s wife, and recently we had a sixteen year old girl come to my husband desiring to be baptized, because she hadn’t taken that step of obedience following her salvation. She attends our church faithfully, however her parents are divorced and there was disagreement from her mother who believes she was baptized as an infant. There are now problems with her mother, who claims her daughter dishonored her. Did we do the right thing by encouraging her to go ahead rather than wait until she was out from under her mother’s authority? -Debbie

Todd, our teenage son is pushing back hard against Christianity, calling it forced upon him. Despite this, we keep him in church and youth group hoping he’ll encounter Christ. But his disdain is growing. Should we keep pushing these activities, because his level of disrespect towards us and others who are believers is growing? -Anonymous
How do we appropriately share our burdens? Sometimes I don’t share because I think that it’s too much or because I can’t express it without being tempted to sin. I don’t want to put too much on someone else and at the same time it’s incredibly lonely. -Susan
I have a new coworker who I think may have some romantic feelings for me. She is married and going through a hard time. I have been partially tasked with training her. She texts me outside of work. I’m not sure what to do because I can’t stop the work relationship, but don’t want to feed into the potential romantic feelings either. -Anonymous
Segment 2
My pastor has gotten into the habit of using what I would consider to be an over-abundance of quips, quotes, illustrations, personal stories, and observations that he has pulled from commentaries. Some days he may utilize as few as five to seven, but it’s far more common for his sermons to contain as many as ten, twelve, fifteen, even seventeen such devices. When does this kind of thing become too much? -Kimberly
Todd, the idea of sinning without realizing it terrifies me. How can we repent for sins we’re unaware of? This concern makes me feel like my repentance is never enough. -Anonymous
Segment 3
There are instances throughout Israel’s history of kings being rebuked for affiliating themselves with pagan nations. We are also commanded to not be yoked with unbelievers, yet we can do commerce with them. To what extent can we be yoked with unbelievers in the political sphere or the marketplace? -David
I am a man and I have been asked to help serve at a women’s conference. My job would be to help set up equipment and run the projector during service time. Keep in mind, this is a conference where only women will be attending and only women will be teaching. The only men that will be there are the ones on the praise team, the sound guy, and myself. Should I and the other men attend this event? Would it be a violation of 1 Timothy? -Kyle
In regards to your previous statements, that all aborted babies go to Heaven; what do you say to a pastor who says we should not combat the abortion industrial complex, but we should let the pagans abort their babies, because that is most likely the best way for those babies to go to heaven? Some folks consider this a good thing, rather than the abomination that child sacrifice is.
Hey Todd, my church really pushes having a daily quiet time, almost saying it’s a sin to skip it. But I listen to sermons and Christian podcasts daily, feeding my faith without always reading the Bible. Historically, many believers didn’t have daily scripture access, so is missing quiet time really sinful? -Cole
Segment 4
In Matthew, after Jesus’s death, there’s an account of tombs opening and many saints being raised. Were they resurrected like Lazarus, to die again later? What’s the meaning of this event? -Nate
Why did the melons go through all the stress of wedding planning? Because they cantaloupe. -Josh
I’ve been saved for about 8 months now but I have a problem, almost every day I think about death not like suicidal but just death and I don’t really care about living a normal worldly life with a job and marriage and retirement because I know what happens, it’s all going away in the end. I know Ecclesiastes talks about this but I want to know is this Biblical thinking if not what can be done? -Wesley
How do I break the habit of turning to sermons to understand a text rather than studying it on my own? -Zach

At my workplace, as in many other workplaces, there are people who curse and worse yet, take the Lord’s name in vain. When they do it really bothers me, but I’m not sure what to do? How should I react to that? -Jacquelin
How should married Christians handle work meetings with the opposite sex? Especially lunch meetings that are one on one specifically. It seems no one is bothered by these meetings but my husband and I are. But we feel stuck since it’s sort of what’s typical and expected in this line of work. -Barbara
Segment 2
I am engaged to a Christian man. In my job, I earn about double what he does. When talking about things, he isn’t very open to the idea of staying home and raising our kids. He believes it’s the man’s role to provide. Is there any biblical basis for the man being the bread winner? -Laura
Segment 3
So, there is a woman in my life who I know has feelings for me. Her faith goes up and down, but she’s kind and considerate. One of the big issues in why I don’t reciprocate feelings is that I’m not physically attracted to her. Am I in sin for not pursuing a relationship with her for solely that reason? -Daniel
As someone who deals with chronic illness, I am on medication to regulate my medical condition and then pain management for when my condition is not under control. Given what the Bible says about sobriety, how do we reconcile pain management with Scripture? -Emily
Segment 4
When it comes to entertainment, how do I navigate what is right or wrong for me and my wife? There are certain shows that we can watch together, but then there are those I believe cause me to stumble. They contain immodesty and things of that nature, that don’t necessarily bother her. Would it be okay for her to watch those shows alone, or does it effect us as a couple since we are one?
I’m not quite sure how I feel about this particular question. Serious question for Todd… Which is worse for you, church signs or dad jokes?
I have been very put off and uncomfortable with the cultural suggestion that men need to be very vulnerable, share their feelings, and talk in a soft peaceful tone. My general disposition is that men ought to focus on their duties and perform without grumbling. Men should lead with strength and courage, and that men can confide in one another without frivolous talk about feelings. Are my inclinations on this matter correct and biblical? -Nate

I’m 46 years old, single with no kids. One of the spiritual gifts that I believe the Lord has given me is the gift of having a heart to give. I get such great joy from seeing how I can bless others with my giving. Being that I may not be getting married or having kids, I’d like to give the principal of my retirement savings and live off the interest. If I leave my retirement savings to different ministries when I die, does the Lord still consider it giving even though I’m not alive anymore? -Josh

My friend is part of the Free Masons, and has invited me to be a part of it. Even after searching the internet, I don’t have a clear understanding of what this club is and how it functions. What would the Bible teach regarding clubs like this? -Jeff

A church in my area has a location in Las Vegas, and recently they talked about setting up a booth at an adult entertainment convention, from which they spread the Word in hopes of motivating people to get out their sexual immorality. While I get the logic, is it right that they purposely put themselves in such an environment? -Anonymous
Segment 4
My family and I regularly pass out gospel tracts in Thailand. A female pastor saw us doing this and invited us to her church, even suggesting that I preach or give a short message. We belong to a church that holds a biblical view on pastoral roles, specifically that they are reserved for men. So, is accepting this offer a good way to share the gospel, or would it be seen as endorsing unbiblical practices? -Daniel
My Pastor has subtly brought in the prosperity gospel, I have had a few meetings with him about my concerns, but I’m still concerned and confused about staying and continue questioning in hopes that The Holy Spirit convicts his heart and mind to the Truth, or go to the Baptist church in town where there is sound doctrine? -Daniel
I’m concerned that I lack true sorrow over my sins. I want my grief to primarily be because I’ve offended God, not just feeling bad about consequences. How can I develop a sorrow that sincerely grieves over how my sin hurts the Lord? -Sam

I have a 13 year old daughter and I would like to find a good devotional for her and a Bible study. She’s not sure if she is a Christian. She reads her bible daily but not out of desire but routine. What do you recommend for a devotional and bible study for her age that we could go through together or she could go through on her own? -David
Segment 2
I have attended a church for almost a year now that has slowly become less and less biblical (but not heresy) and after a couple of chats with the pastor, he told me “If you don’t have trust in our leadership, you should find a new church.” Since then, I have attended a few other churches and have realized how more Biblical they are BUT I am still fearful that all the same regression may happen again. How can I be sure a church is truly biblical, and how can I restore trust in a shepherd when I’ve been let down in the past? -James

My husband, who claims to be a Christian, doesn’t read the Bible nor does he think he needs to go to church. I have been seeing positive fruits developing in him, like giving up heavy alcohol abuse and becoming a better husband. He spends a lot of time watching weird videos that seem to be trying to disprove the truth of the Bible. He has even told me that my NKJV Bible isn’t a good version to use, though he can’t tell me what a good version is. I’ve tried talking to him, but sometimes it turns into a fight. I don’t want to quench the good things that are happening, but how do I address his arrogance and get him to listen to truth? -Anonymous

I’m a high school senior girl and plan to enter a Christian college in the fall. I will be in a dorm with a close friend and she has discussed her excitement for making new friends. I feel like maybe our friendship could be put on the back burner. Maybe not, but also I’m not someone who specifically wants a large group of friends. I’m definitely not anti-social and I like meeting fellow believers, but I would love to have an inner circle of Christians I could grow and open up with. I mean I have the same sermon notes in my bible, and you can even look up on YouTube and almost see a word-for-word of the same sermons being reused. -Anonymous
As a new parent, my wife and I have been faithful to our local church despite changes, including a pastor change. With concerns like not doing the Lord’s table weekly, adding videos during worship, allowing coffee in the sanctuary, the new pastor not being as insightful, and a shift towards contemporary worship music, I’m worried about presenting a casual approach to worship to my son. How can I instill a high view of church in him? -Anonymous

Planning to host Christmas for the first time this year, and there will be many unsaved family members. Looking for resources or advice to share the Christmas story and Gospel essentially effectively without coming off as overly preachy. -Josh
As a K-12 music teacher in a public school, struggling with enforcing classroom discipline in a balance of grace and discipline. How can this be done in a Christ Honoring way? -Darian
My wife is struggling with the assurance of her salvation and feels unmotivated to read the Bible. How can I shepherd and minister to her in this situation? -Joey
Segment 3
Can you help me articulate why brutal rapes should be punishable by death? -Codie
Regarding terms and conditions, is it considered lying if I check ‘Yes, I have read and agree to the terms and conditions’ without actually reading them? -Elvis
I am concerned about hearing minced oaths like ‘Gosh’, ‘My goodness’, and ‘Goodness gracious’ from the pulpit. Should I address this with my pastor? -Stephen
Segment 4
In political discussions, should Christians avoid naming specific leaders who are in rebellion against God and instead focus on praying for them? -Tiffany
Do you think it’s possible to find a spouse of a different denominational stripe even if there are some theological disagreements, as long as they are not outside Christian orthodoxy? -David
I have a very heartbreaking family issue. My brother is very, very sick and has been in and out of hospitals his whole life. His mind is impaired and he doesn’t understand a lot that’s going on, he recently told me he no longer wants to be in the hospital, he just wants to be at home and be as comfortable as he can. I’m broken, should I go against his will and send him back to the hospital or allow him to be as comfortable as he can at home until the end? -Chris

What are your thoughts on the appropriate levels of financial disclosure in church budgets?
Maybe you need to hear this.
T -Jonah
-Mike

Segment 1
Should men who strive to be biblical, and physically able, learn some form of basic self-defense? -Fong Lee
You said kids ghost their parents. I feel parents are ghosting the kids, by not having daily family meals together, not going to school events and not talking to each other. -Andrew
I have a family member who will only partake in the Lord’s Table if the bread being used is unleavened bread. While I agree that unleavened bread is certainly a more accurate representation of Christ’s sinless body, I see no command in Scripture for Christians to use unleavened bread during this ordinance. -Jason
Segment 2
I have heard you say, “We are told in the Bible that we are to live a gospel centered life.” What does that mean? -Don
Why is Handel’s Messiah the most beautiful song ever written, and why are you a heretic, if you disagree? -Arie
Segment 3
Hymns and Oscar Navarro.
Segment 4
I was recently told that I shouldn’t use innocent/guilt/law language when witnessing to people from honor/shame cultures. Is there any wisdom in this? While it makes sense to me that shame may be a bigger deal than guilt in some cultures, I also know that all people have a God given conscience and therefore have the capacity to understand they have broken God’s laws and are guilty, regardless of cultural context. -Jessi
I help with a Bible study for 4th grade boys and recently we went through the 10 commandments and they replaced “you shall not commit adultery” with “respect others.” I understand that the lesson is trying to be age appropriate, but it doesn’t seem right to me to skip over the 7th commandment, especially with how much people break it these days. I was wondering how should we teach little kids about the 7th commandment “you shall not commit adultery.”? -Jacob
I’m interested in studying the history of the early church and the Protestant Reformation in more depth. Are there any reliable resources that you would recommend? -Andrew
I have a question regarding a recent episode where you said that young men who aren’t married yet should start acting like husbands and dads. What is involved in that? I fall into the age group you mentioned, and I want to know how this would apply to me. -Johnathan

What exactly is the unforgivable sin? I’ve heard various interpretations and opinions on it, and I’m getting confused. -Dylan
Recently you mentioned that if someone hurts you, you should always have a posture of forgiveness, but you do not have to throw yourself back into the situation that caused the hurt. I have a parent who keeps disappointing me in our relationship by sharing my private information with others without asking, and so I don’t trust them. But, now I have a baby and I do not want the same thing to happen with him. Do I keep them at arm’s length if they have proven themselves untrustworthy, or do I forgive them and let them right back in good standing with their grandson? -Sarah
Segment 4
How does that honor your parents?
I have a coworker who I consider a friend and who professes to be a Christian. However, we recently had a conversation where he expressed doubts about the inerrancy of Scripture, despite my efforts to share relevant Bible verses. I am genuinely concerned for his soul and unsure how to proceed from here? -Matt
How can I increase my obedience to Christ? I long to obey Him more because I love Him so much, but I find myself neglecting prayer and just speeding through the Word in my devotion time. -Zach

I need some advice on how to best encourage my husband, who is a (bi-vocational) discouraged pastor, besides praying continually for him. He is a church planter, and is a faithful expositor of the Word, but recently had some leave the church because he wasn’t preaching on issues of the day. -Anonymous
Segment 2
Help! I just found out I’m having a baby girl! How do I raise a girl with gentleness and strength? I feel like I have only been ready to have boys. -Walker
What are your thoughts regarding Christians who write fantasy stories and want to honor God with their work? How should we portray things like magic and characters committing sin? -Ren
Segment 3
Mr. Friel, if you had to choose a church to be a member at (assuming both are doctrinally sound), which would it be? Church #1 has a phenomenal pastor who preaches spot on every week, but the church body does little together apart from Sunday services. Church #2, on the other hand, has a mediocre pastor, yet the church body is incredible, actively working in each other’s lives and serving the Lord together. Given these two choices, which church would you choose for membership, and why? -Sam
I’ve been looking into the origins of chiropractic care and found that its founder, D.D. Palmer, was a spiritist who claimed to have received chiropractic knowledge from a deceased physician. Palmer’s approach to chiropractic was closer to a religious belief than medical practice. I’m curious about your opinion on its use and compatibility with Christian beliefs. -Luke
Segment 4
I feel like patience is one of the characteristics God has been working in my heart the past few years, and through a lot of waiting, even though I’m only 18, I’ve grown in patience, but I wouldn’t say I enjoy being patient. Even though I trust God and His timing, I don’t have a high regard of patience. How would you suggest I can learn to enjoy patience when more often than not, I am more indifferent to it? -John
What in the world is the Message Bible and why shouldn’t I use it. -Eric
So, as we are about to head into the Christmas season, what are your thoughts on un-married people doing mistletoe? -Sterling
Can a biblical church have a woman as a Children’s Ministry Director? -Anonymous

I have a daughter who was raised in the faith but has walked away, and she’s now considering marrying a non-believer. Though we taught her to marry someone who loves God, she doesn’t seem to care. If I don’t support this union, she may see it as another reason to label me a bad mom. How should I approach this situation? -Krista
Segment 4
What does biblical marriage look like? -Anonymous
Should I honor my parents, if one is a rapist and the other an abuser? If so, what does it mean then to honor your parents? -Anonymous

Segment 1
Should we simplify the gospel for young children? For example, should we mention things like hell? -Jeremey
My family and I have been attending a church for a while but are not yet members. They asked my husband to help with the music. I feel he should be a member before serving. It makes me wonder if this is a church we should join. What are your thoughts? -Anonymous
Segment 2
Can you discuss church constitutions, specifically elder-led versus congregationally-directed governance models and the hybrids in between? -Anonymous
What are your thoughts on Christians using religious greetings and sayings from other faiths, like saying ‘Namaste’ to a Hindu or ‘Blessed be’ to a Wiccan? I want to be respectful of other cultures but not dishonor God. Is it okay or should these be avoided? -Kenny
Should Christians be in support of the building of the 3rd Temple? -Anonymous
Segment 3
My wife and I (married for nearly 7 years) just realized we disagree on if women should or can be pastors. How do we come to an understanding as a couple if we don’t agree? -Anonymous
If someone breaks into my home and holds a gun to my friend’s head, demanding that I deny Christ or else they will kill my friend, what should I do? I don’t want to deny Christ, but I also don’t want my friend to die because of my choice. What does Scripture instruct in this kind of scenario? -Joe
What’s your approach to witnessing effectively to atheists online? Or do you think online witnessing isn’t worth it compared to in-person, where it seems more effective? I’m trying to be a good ambassador but it’s tough to break through their veneer online. -Rob
Segment 4
Given the one flesh nature of marriage, do you think it’s appropriate to always study scripture with your wife, or is individual personal study still important? I’ve been thinking more and more about marriage lately and studying scripture with my wife is something I’m particularly excited about so I was curious about the one flesh aspect of things. -William
It seems I will remain single due to consistently being rejected. So my question is, how can I remove my desire for marriage? -Mike
I came across someone advocating conservative Christians join liberal mainline Protestant churches to try to make them more conservative again. My question is twofold: 1) When a church goes liberal, should conservatives stay or split? And 2) Is there merit to joining liberal churches to try to steer them back to conservatism? -Corey

Segment 1
I have heard in apologetics that the disciples would not have died for something they believed was false. How is this fact different from the cases of Jonestown or the Branch Davidians, where people died for beliefs that turned out to be false? -Matt
I am a practicing Christian and listen to and play guitar – mostly heavy metal music. Lyrically, there is a lot of talk about political messages and war. Would it be sinful to this music? -Jon
Is being a surrogate mother for money wrong according to the Bible? -Ron
Segment 2
Work More, Don’t Be Lazy.
Segment 3
How can I give encouragement and counsel without seeming like I’m just trying to “fix” a person? -Kyle
Why is repenting not considered a work? -Anonymous
What are your thoughts, biblically, on a man having a vasectomy? My husband and I have been contemplating birth control options and which are biblical. -Hannah
Segment 4
You mentioned not talking about a false teacher’s current situation. Isn’t there an obligation?
I’m on a fixed income. I want to give to my church, but can’t.
If a person has been given over to a reprobate mind, is his condition reversible?

Segment 1
How did ancient Gentiles receive salvation before Christ? Salvation was for Jews first, but what path was there for Gentile salvation in Old Testament times? Weren’t Adam, Eve, and everyone before Abraham Gentiles? What was their path to salvation? -Sherri
I have meditated for a few months now, but only have just recently thought about the origins of it, and its central use in false religions. If I am only using it to clear my head, is that ok, or should I be only relying on prayer to attempt to think more clearly? -Cory
Segment 2
I’m struggling to have good relations with my in-laws. They regularly go behind my back to my wife and criticize my decisions and how I lead my family. I want to honor them, but I’m hurt that they tear me down to my wife rather than approach me directly with wisdom on how I could improve. This has created tension between me and my wife. What should I do to honor my in-laws while dealing with this hurtful dynamic? -Seth
Segment 3
Recently you said some people might not see good results “this side of heaven.” Can you give me an example of how we might see good fruit from bad experiences after death, if we love the Lord? -Hannah
I’m convinced using the law to expose sin is biblical when evangelizing. But is it unbiblical to not use it? My church’s evangelism training doesn’t mention the law, judgment or hell, just presenting brokenness as the problem. What advice can you give on participating in these kinds of evangelism events where the law isn’t used? Should I engage anyway or distance myself from a potentially false gospel? -Jessi
Segment 4
For some time now I’ve felt what seems to be a calling to preach. I have a very sinful past including fornication. I’ve repented of this, and I know God has forgiven me, but does he take that opportunity away as part of a consequence for my actions? -Marc
I am married to a christian man, but over the last 9 years I have not seen much fruit that shows his desire to live for the Lord. My worst fear is that he was not fully saved though he thinks he is. How do I respond to this delicate matter as a believing wife, and how do I approach our church leadership without undermining my husband. My desire is for him to be saved. -Anonymous
Should we as Christians mock and demean Satan and his demons or have respect for them? I hear many Christian’s call Satan “Lucy” to demean him and mock him. They also seem to have this laid back attitude towards Him. While we serve Christ alone and Satan is a defeated enemy, are we supposed to show that type of attitude towards him? -Kyle
What are your thoughts on teenagers drawing/doodling during service? I’m finding that almost all the young people in our church are doing this during the sermon. Is it something that should be addressed or just left up to their parents to decide whether or not it’s appropriate? -Anonymous

Is puppy abortion wrong? -Anonymous
What would you recommend to a woman whose husband is verbally abusive? At that point does she walk away to protect herself and her child? -Sarah
I have a close friend who hasn’t gone to church growing up but is a Christian, he goes to the same Christian school as me and does truly love God. But he struggles to meet with other believers even in youth group or our own Bible study that I’ve started with other guys my age. I invite him every time but he usually doesn’t come. What should I do? -Samual
When it comes to the evidence of salvation, do I need to be able to check every box before I can have assurance? If not, how should I view that evidence? I struggle with despair because I’m never sure if I have enough evidence for true assurance. -Amber
Segment 2
Is it wrong to claim tax deductions for donations and weekly church offerings when filing taxes yearly? I’m conflicted because it doesn’t seem sacrificial if I get money back. Some Christian friends claim them, others don’t for the same reason. Is there any biblical reference to help me decide? -Jana

Can you please define the essentials of the faith as well as what are secondary and tertiary issues? -Steve
Segment 3
In the Numb Little Bug episode you emphasized the importance of work to human flourishing. I agree with what you said, but I struggle with satisfaction at work. Pastors and podcasters are the ones who typically call people to find contentment in their work, but in my opinion they have dream jobs. They can study what interests them, and tell others about it. No one dreams about doing what I do. What about people like me who really are stuck in jobs that meet physical needs and that’s about it? -Mike
One of our church elders attended a Beyoncé concert. Her songs include anti-christian and disgusting lyrics. I’m outraged but my elder husband, while agreeing it was unwise, doesn’t think the man should be confronted. Am I wrong to be so upset? Shouldn’t our elders say something to him? -Anonymous
Segment 4
Todd, knowing that 1 John 3:17 says “whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?”, how can you, who has a working shower, sit by and laugh at Jimmy’s water heater predicament? -Daniel
Recently you talked about Spurgeon and how infants go to heaven. You said that they have not willfully sinned therefore they will not be damned. How does that fit with humans having a sin nature? -Anonymous

What happened to Todd? His anointing is gone. -Anonymous
I am a manager and one of my employees seems hostile to Christianity and a practicing homosexual. I feel like if I share the Gospel with her, it will result in a phone call to HR. I want to provide for my family, but also want to share the gospel wherever I can. Would it be wise for me to keep it to myself in this instance? I’d love to hear from Jimmy on this as well. -Brian
You’ve talked a lot about how women can’t teach men in church, but what about other things? Is it ok for a woman to teach art or biology or business at a university? -Anonymous
I had someone ask me if we will be male and female in Heaven? They said, since there is no need to procreate once there, why have male and female? What say you? -Anonymous
Segment 2
I found Christ after enlisting in the military. I know wars are predicted in the end and I’m ready for may come, but is it sinful to take part in this warfare? I’m wrestling with the morality of potentially taking life and all the evils that come with warfare now that I’ve found Christ. -Anonymous Sailor
Is there a specific daily prayer I should be saying? -Mrs. Siglin
Segment 3
My church is going through Wretched Worldview 2 and this week’s lesson was on taxes. Many questions arose after, and one that is still coming up that I’d like your take on. What is the biblical approach to write-offs and subsidies to lower the taxes one pays? -Darrell
What about resisting Caesar when he attempts to deify himself? -Anonymous
I have a dilemma. A work acquaintance of mine is going through a rough time of suffering (her husband is dying of cancer) and so almost every time I see her, she is in a bad mood. She is hurt, frustrated, sad, and even angry. I see her suffering and want to offer the gospel of Jesus Christ to her. But since she doesn’t seem to be in a talking mood most of them I’m with her, I usually don’t say much of anything. I’m at a loss how to share the gospel in this situation. What do you suggest? -Talia
Segment 4

You recently said, “we shouldn’t read the Bible in one hand with the news feed in the other.” Can you elaborate on this? I’m asking because someone I was recently talking to said the exact same opposite…”read the newspaper in one hand and your Bible on the other.” I’m confused! -Becca
You mentioned recently that we should reflect on the eternal state of sinners who wrong us as a means to help us forgive them. I have heard it said that a mother in Heaven will be glad that her own child is being punished in hell because of her perfect love for God. I have no problem with either of those statements, but why should we be sorry about the eternal damnation of sinners now if we will be glad of it in Heaven? -Anonymous

At my church we have only 1 teenage girl and 1 teenage boy. Since we don’t have any programs for youth, we don’t have a youth pastor. As a woman, would I be permitted to begin a class for these teenagers? Would it make any difference if it was a worldview class rather than a Bible study? -Marisa

I attend a women’s Bible study group. A person I believe to be a man has also been attending. I’ve brought this to the leadership but they won’t address it since the person’s gender isn’t confirmed. Segment 2
In your opinion, does the local church have the authority to tell me to marry a specific person? -Diane
My church is solid theologically, but every now and then, our pastor preaches on tithing 10% so God can bless the other 90%. He also says this opens our household to the Lord’s protection over our relationships and possessions. I find this to be prosperity-oriented and wonder if I’m sinning by questioning it. -Anonymous
Segment 3
What are your thoughts on presuppositional apologetics? Some proponents argue it’s the only valid approach because of Romans 1, saying “people already know God exists.” They also point out that the Bible doesn’t rely on evidence for God. On the flip side, it seems the early church didn’t use this method and it only gained traction in the 1800s. So should we use it exclusively, in moderation along with evidentiary apologetics, or avoid it altogether? -Nathan
I recently attended a Christian comedy show where they used a break to promote sponsoring a child in Haiti. While I’m sympathetic to the cause, I felt manipulated by emotional tactics and the use of scripture like ‘the least of these.’ What’s the balance in the desire to serve those in need without feeling like I’m not a Christian if I opt out of a specific program like this? -Kaitlyn

At what age or stage of spiritual maturity should someone begin taking communion? Specifically, I’m wondering about my 11-year-old son, given the warning in 1 Corinthians about partaking in an ‘unworthy manner.’ Should it be limited to those who have undergone believer’s baptism or made a proclamation of faith? -Justin

You’ve talked about Christians avoiding same-sex weddings to not affirm the relationship. Should the same principle apply for attending the weddings of heterosexual couples who’ve openly engaged in premarital sex? -Michael
When you’re on campus, I was thinking when you ask them ” how many lies” ” How many things have you stolen?” would it be better to ask just simply ” Have you ever told a lie”?”Have you ever stolen anything?” keeping them focused…with a yes or no question…. -John
Recently got promoted to head the campus ministry at a college. The previous leader wasn’t too involved, so it’s a clean slate situation. Right now, we have a weekly Thursday gathering that’s similar to a church service, plus some Bible studies throughout the week. I’m feeling overwhelmed and wondering if this is sufficient. Any advice on how to effectively run a college ministry? -Daniel
Segment 2
My wife and I are several thousand dollars in debt. We could pay it off in 4-6 months instead of 12-15 by pausing our tithing, but this idea feels almost sinful. How can we approach the issue of debt and tithing in a biblical way? -Joel
What’s your take on church dress codes? Some folks say dresses and collared shirts are a must, while others think sweatpants are okay. For me, being there to hear the Word matters more than what you wear. What’s your perspective? -Ann
Segment 3
For more than 10 years my wife and I have attended a non-denominational church. It was a tough and really cult like experience. We are now at a healthier church and working on recovering from our experiences. Are there any resources we could tap into to promote healing and support our integration into our new church? Thank you sir and God bless. -Richard

Is it biblical for women to pursue men romantically? A friend argued that it isn’t God’s design for women. But from my perspective, I think mutual pursuit is important in a relationship. I may initiate, but if she’s not responsive, it feels pointless. Any scriptural insights on this? -George
Segment 4
As a single man who has an overwhelming desire for marriage, how can I be content with being lonely and single? And a better question would be, how can I believe that God is enough? -Sam

What can a pastor’s wife do to truly support her husband during difficult ministry times? Do you have any encouragement for those of us in this role? -Anonymous

I’m a medical professional grappling with being in the world while maintaining my Christian beliefs, especially in the face of gender ideology. I continue to work with non-Christian colleagues and navigate overseeing organizations that promote these ideologies. While I’ve cut ties with some associations, banks, and financial planners, distancing myself from regulatory bodies isn’t an option. With so many decisions to make and not wanting to be caught in the fire, how can I balance day-to-day activities with standing firm in my beliefs and ethics? -Anonymous
I’m surrounded by some pretty vulgar music at work. My coworkers, knowing I’m a Christian, find it funny to see my reaction when an especially inappropriate song plays. I usually just tune it out, but is being in earshot of this music sinful? How should I handle my coworkers who find this amusing? -Matt

Segment 2
I’ve been a Christian since 2004 and love hearing solid biblical teaching. While I’m passionate about the truth and the Word, I struggle with the singing part of worship. I usually sit it out, fearing I’d be a hypocrite if I joined in. Am I sinning by not wanting to sing during worship? -Bradford
Segment 3
Is it biblically justified for a church to require elders, deacons, and teachers to hold premillennial views, or is this adding to scriptural requirements? Is eschatological unity commonly demanded for church leadership roles? -Derek
Segment 4
I’m a licensed funeral director and recently heard your episode on Alkaline Hydrolysis. I agree it’s not the most respectful method. Segment 1
After moving out of state and joining a new Bible church, I’ve mostly found a warm welcome. However, one woman seems to be passive-aggressively working against me. She seems to dislike me all while pretending to be my friend. I tried addressing it privately with her, but she denies everything and continues on, all with as smile on her face. This has led to sadness and anxiety, making me long for my old church. I just want to move back home, but my husband wants to stay and I respect his decision. Can you please give me some advice? -Anonymous
Segment 2
How can I interact with this family member in a loving way while managing our differences over the King James Version? They constantly bring up this topic, and it’s straining our relationship. -Richard
When reading the Word, I notice it seems to call for emotional responses like remorse for sin or joy in salvation, but these feelings don’t always come easily for me. Should I be forcing these emotions, or is this a misunderstanding or a sign of immaturity in my walk with Christ? -Destin
Segment 3
I’ve been struggling with chronic pain and Lyme disease for 8 years, leading me to question Psalm 84:11, which says, ‘No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.’ As I’ve had to give up many ‘good things’ like being with friends, volunteering at a nearby ministry, participating in church events, how can I reconcile this verse with my situation? How can I think through this biblically? -Addy
Segment 4
I’ve been married for 11 years, and I admit I was not a loving wife. God recently awakened me to my marriage and my spiritual life. Unfortunately, two months ago, my husband cheated on me, but I forgave him, and we’re now in biblical counseling. Despite this, I find myself struggling to trust him, especially since he’s very social with women, insisting these friendships mean nothing. Considering my renewed commitment to my marriage and my love for my husband, how do I trust him without questioning everything he does, especially after the infidelity? -Anonymous

Segment 1
I’ve been hearing teaching recently that puts Christians into ‘categories,’ like the spiritual Christian, the carnal Christian, etc. I even heard one teacher say that there are four categories of spirituality from Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians — the spiritually discerning or mature Christian, the natural person, the infant in Christ, and the immature or carnal Christian. I understand that Christians are at different stages in their walk, but I don’t see these labels threaded throughout the New Testament. The categories I do see is between the saved and the unsaved — sheep vs. goats or wheat vs. tares, etc. What say you? -Jeff
If you’re reading the word, totally engrossed in it – where do you stop? I want to know more and more, but am I sinning by putting it aside to take care of the things I’ve been blessed with like my kids, wife, and job? -Anonymous
Segment 2
Why do people, when they are witnessing after going through the law, only talk about Jesus’s death on the cross, but rarely talk about the resurrection? I feel like I’ve made a major gospel error if I don’t talk about the resurrection. Because without the resurrection, there would be no atonement for sins. -Trenton (age 15)
Segment 3
We’ve been members of our new church for half a year and appreciate its strong adherence to the Bible. Despite this, we’re concerned about the lack of community outreach. We’ve noticed that unlike other churches, ours doesn’t participate in efforts like Compassion Sunday, Operation Shoebox and others. When I talk with our pastor he said that while community outreach can be helpful and even a possibility at times, the church’s main focus will be the responsibility of each member to be actively sharing the gospel with the lost. I’m just wondering about that approach, something about little to no community outreach doesn’t sit well with me. -Gina
With certain Bible teachers shifting towards ideologies like CRT that deviate from a strictly biblical perspective, should we exercise caution in recommending their previous works? How do we reconcile their impactful, biblical teachings with their current stance? -Steve
Are children’s Bibles a good idea? -Jess
Our family recently moved and we are still looking for a biblical Church to attend. One of the only churches we could find that has solid expository preaching believes in infant baptism and in order to become members we would have to baptize our baby and toddler. This Church’s doctrine seems solid otherwise but we hesitate to become members if we have to baptize our babies. Should we find another church? -McKenna
Segment 4
I am struggling with my involvement in a ‘dying’ church. There is no growth, the pastor seems disengaged, and there is a lack of investment in the youth and children’s ministries. Despite the preaching from the Bible and traditional hymns, I’m finding it difficult to continue being a part of this church. Can you provide some guidance on how to navigate this situation? – Karina
God is sovereign over all things. I agree with that 1000 percent but how do you talk to people who disagree when they bring up parts in the Bible where God “regrets” things? In 1 Samuel it says God regretted making Saul King. I understand God’s sovereignty but don’t know how to articulate this. How would you? -Ken

I am a 24 year old female, and my dad abused alcohol my entire childhood until I was 17. He was never physically abusive, but it was a fearful time for me and I learned to avoid my dad or treat him indifferently in order to save myself some heartbreak. Even though he it’s been 7 years since he went sober, I still find myself distant from him, and he attempts to do things to be closer to me, but I push him away, because he doesn’t address the great hurt that he’s inflicted on our family. I’m not sure he’s a Christian, but he claims to be. I struggle to respect and honor him. What should I do? -Anonymous
In Galatians they were mixing the law with Grace. Are we doing the same when we mix the gospel with discipleship. Using words like repent, commit, obey. -Elza
Wondering, what is the proper thing for a Christian to do with a Bible that is falling apart or one that you just don’t use anymore for one reason or another? -Shannon

I’ve been wrestling with temptation and finding myself thinking, “God will forgive me, so I’ll just sin now and ask forgiveness later.” I know it’s wrong, and it feels like I’m abusing God’s grace. -Hopeless Wretch
Does counseling equal pastoring? I am more frequently being asked by members of my church to counsel, though I am not a certified counselor. I have considered becoming a biblical counselor, but I do wonder about marriage counseling and if that gets into the gray area of pastoring? -Debbie
Segment 3
Was Jesus only limited to normal human abilities or did his divinity “peek through”? -Darrel
A girl whom I frequently have theological conversations with asked me this question: “What if a man uses makeup. Not because he’s gay, but because it’s a hobby that he keeps to himself.” -Casey

You have previously talked about how believers should be a part of a church close to home instead of driving far distances to attend church. We live in the middle of nowhere with a lot of small churches that are very shallow in teaching and doctrine. What are your thoughts on us traveling 35 miles to be a part of sound Bible teaching church? -Cole

Should American Christians be prominently and publicly affiliated with any one political party, or should we remain as objectively biblical voters that reject committing to a party’s platform? -Anonymous
I am 25, I’ve only dated two Christian guys in my life and broke things off because I didn’t think we were going in the same direction, and we didn’t have the same desire to know God better. My question is, should I compromise, on wanting someone who wants to go out, witnessing at college campuses, going to abortion clinics to convince women out of an abortion, donating to charities we both like and doing a Bible study together? -Mabel
Segment 2
Should Christians prioritize finding employment aligned with their faith or stay as salt and light in the workplace, trusting God to provide for their families? – Kristina
How can I distinguish between primary and secondary theological issues? While certain doctrines like the Trinity and salvation by faith are clearly primary, I struggle to determine the status of topics like women pastors, divorce, church government, and millennial views. Any guidance on discerning the significance of these issues would be appreciated. – Andrew

My wife and I are expecting a baby, and we’re considering a 12-week paternity leave. Some people are advising against it, claiming it’s rooted in unbiblical ideas. I’m researching the topic but struggling to find answers. Could you provide insight into whether taking paternity leave would be considered sinful? -Osie
Just listened to your recent episode where you mentioned Saddleback’s creative team. I wanted to dive deeper into this thought. I do believe the modern church exploits the use of creativity for shameful gain (like Saddleback Church for example), however I also believe that creativity is a gift from God and we as Christians should use it to bring Him glory. I believe we should do things with excellence, reflecting the excellence of our Creator. To what extent do you think Christians should utilize creativity in the church? -Christopher
Both of my parents are devout, wise Christians. Recently they have condemned me for being too aggressive in evangelism. I use way of the master but they say that I need to build a relationship with people before I evangelize and that people can smell my ulterior motives when I talk to them. Am I in the wrong? -Nathan
Segment 2
I want your Biblical perspective on a dilemma between my husband and I. We have been married for a few years now, and last year my husband told me how deeply he desired a motorcycle and wants to get one when new can afford it. We have argued over this, as I believe they are dangerous. I want to be submissive, and I know that nothing can happen to him apart from God’s sovereign will. I also know the husband’s responsibility is to die to his desires for his wife, but I know that does not absolve me of mutual submission. Should he be able to get one or should my conviction be more important to him? -Kailee

Is gluttony a forgotten sin in American culture, and why do you think even churches fall into it? -Tony
How should I go about addressing my pastor regarding his wife dressing immodestly? I feel like it’s being a bad witness to the church, but it’s also a delicate thing to talk to man about his wife. -Amado
I realize children can and sometimes should be part of worship, but should children be part of leading worship? -Danny
Segment 2
In your recent video about manliness, you mentioned the importance of having an older man to disciple a young man like me. I’ve never had someone to teach me how to be a man, as my dad isn’t a Christian. While there are men at my church whom I admire, I don’t have a close relationship with any of them. I want to know how to approach someone to mentor me, but I’m worried it might be awkward or inconvenient for them since they have their own families. Could you please guide me on how a young person should ask an older person to become their mentor? I’d greatly appreciate your advice on this matter. -Jacob
I’ve been reflecting on church history, particularly the early church era before the reformation. I’ve come across figures like Augustine and Athanasius, who were Catholic but have influenced modern Protestantism through their creeds and confessions. I understand that “catholic” should be considered in the context of the timeline, whether it refers to “Roman Catholic” or the “universal church.” Could you discuss this time period and guide me on how to read the writings of these early church fathers? -Caleb
What does the Bible say about soldiers going to war and having to kill people? -Anonymous

I’ve been pondering biblical interpretation and how to determine if something is a sin issue or merely a difference in understanding. With so many interpretations and doctrines, how can we distinguish sin from differing perspectives? Who is interpreting scripture correctly? -Tobi
I’d like to know the difference between preaching and teaching and how they should be expressed. The church I used to attend was doctrinally sound, but I felt a lack of emphasis on God’s love for me during the sermons, making them feel lifeless and dry. Can you shed some light on this? -Tim

My spouse refuses to lose weight. She’s gained so much in the last 6 months and I’ve tried everything to say to her to have her lose weight. She refuses and I feel our kids will see this and think it’s okay to be morbidity obese. She eats junk food, never works out and watches tv on her phone all night and doesn’t want to read her Bible. I’m thin myself. I don’t find her attractive at all. I’ve asked her daily since January to read the Bible with me but she’d rather watch the Kardashians. She’s a sluggard and killing our marriage. When it comes to assurance, the devil can be very convincing in making his lies appear like God’s truth. So, how I distinguish between the lies of the devil and the truth of God when it comes to my salvation? -Douglas
We recently had a guest speaker who used the Passion translation. The content of the message was godly, though, and when I asked my pastor if we should be concerned, he agreed that the TPT was bad and he would not like for anyone to use it. But since no one in our congregation uses it, it’s not an issue worth addressing at the moment. Should I be more concerned or is it prudent to focus on what our local body struggles with now and not what could potentially be in the future? -Dale

Now and then I’ll go through spells where life feels like a virtual reality and nothing feels concrete or safe. I have over many years of my life found myself in a recurring pattern of habitual sexual sin. I was recently given a book called Finally Free by Heath Lambert, this book tells about the importance of having Godly sorrow and not worldly sorrow. I have continually asked the Lord for Godly sorrow but I don’t believe that I have had it, is there something I must do to cooperate in having Godly sorrow? Surely I can’t muster it up myself? -Alex
Should our pastor apologize for endorsing teachers who have later been exposed for heretical or immoral behavior? -Chris
What does the bible say about having a condescending attitude? And how to respond whether they are Christian or not? -Armen
Segment 2
Many churches hold weekly small group Bible studies. I often see the format used of a leader posing questions about scripture and its application, inviting responses from the group. The leader often refrains from offering instruction and simply facilitates the discussion. While some see this as an opportunity to be good Bereans, I’m not convinced it’s biblical. I lean towards a structure where teachers instruct, potentially nurturing others to become teachers. Could you share your thoughts on this? -Anonymous

Lately I’ve been suffering with false guilt. I know the Bible talks about a weak conscience in which people consider things that aren’t sinful, as sinful. But when I do things (eating, playing a video game, watching a show, etc.) that I know isn’t inherently sinful, as the Lord gives us freedom in Christ, why am I feeling so guilty? What do I do? How can I enjoy my freedom? -Aaron
What are your thoughts on churches requiring anyone who serves (including volunteering for cleaning) to be members? -Benaiah
My wife and I recently learned that we are expecting a baby girl. While there are numerous resources addressing raising boys into men, I find it a bit difficult locating anything substantial for raising girls into biblical women. Do you know of anything or would you have any sage advise to offer? -Jason

We are a family with young children, all under the age of seven. We’re currently facing a challenging situation: our family dog is aging, and his health is noticeably declining. It seems he may pass away soon. This will not only be a significant change for our kids but also their first real exposure to the concept of death. We would greatly appreciate your advice on how we should counsel our children during this difficult time. -Ben
In what ways were people different in the B.C. era? – Michael
I recently came across a perspective by a Christian YouTuber who stated that there are some Christians who are excellent communicators, love Jesus, can present the Gospel flawlessly, but they are not necessarily shepherds. I’m curious about your take on this. -Anonymous
When it comes to communion, can a church put in place its own policies outside of the Bible’s directives for who can take it? For instance, would it be acceptable for a church to limit communion to only its own members or to members of a related church, or must it be open to members of any Bible believing church? Would those kinds of limitations confuse the point of communion? -Kay
Segment 3
A young person I know doesn’t want to get married due to a history of childhood sexual abuse that has led to a strong aversion to intimacy. Segment 1
Could you cover the topic of deeper forgiveness? I’m wrestling with this, especially having ‘forgiven’ my father and uncle. My father was in prison for most of my life for my mom’s death. My uncle, I believe, is even more dangerous, so I haven’t reached out to him. Do I need to maintain contact to prove I’ve truly forgiven? Can you forgive someone but still not want any contact? I’m trying to do this biblically, but most forgiveness advice I find covers less extreme issues. What about forgiving someone for taking the lives of those you love? And how do I reconcile this with the “honor your father and mother” narrative? -Mary Ellen
Segment 2
I’m a newer Christian dealing with OCD and social anxiety. I always make it to church services, but the anxiety can be so intense sometimes that I dart out to my car as soon as it’s over. This keeps me from building relationships with other believers and I end up feeling like I’m alone in the body of Christ. As a single person living alone, this is really discouraging. Any advice you could offer would be appreciated. -Kathryn
There’s a man being considered for music minister at my church, but he’s been divorced. His wife, who said she was a believer, left him and divorced him. Given 1 Timothy 3, does this disqualify him from serving as an elder? Does it suggest he failed to manage his household? -Logan
In our culture, it’s common to see men going shirtless at the beach, pool, or when working outside. From a biblical standpoint, do you believe this is appropriate, especially considering the likely reaction, both from Christians and the wider culture, if women were to do the same? -Philip
