Woodbine: A Parkdale Haunts Production — Drama
Woodbine: A Parkdale Haunts Production

Beatrice Ashe has a quiet life as an assistant at the Woodbine Agency, a small detective firm in the east end of Toronto. But things change for her quickly when she is brutally attacked and left near death. Now, her boss Grace Hawthorne has a choice to make: Let Bea die… or give her a second chance. A second chance that brings Bea into a new world of shadow.
Woodbine is a show about monsters, mysteries, new beginnings, and new bodies. What would you do if you found yourself in a world you never knew existed? What would you do if you had another chance to get justice? How far would you go to find the truth? And are you willing to figure all these out on your lunch break, because there are cases coming in and the Mothman can only wait so long for answers…
WOODBINE is a new podcast by the creators of the award-winning horror fiction podcast Parkdale Haunt. Listen to Parkdale Haunt seasons 1-3 below, and subscribe for new episodes of Woodbine.
PARKDALE HAUNT:
Ever since Judith’s lifelong best friend, Claire Sterback, inherited a house from a biological family she never knew, things have begun to change. Claire has begun to change. It isn’t just that the house is full of cryptic notebooks, ominous scribblings on the wall, and has a basement that is colder than it should be. It isn’t just that Claire abruptly up and left her live-in boyfriend and is now being stalked by a psychopathic realtor. Claire is… off. As she gets closer to a secret at the heart of the old house in the Toronto neighbourhood of Parkdale, she is also getting closer to losing herself. After Claire goes missing – with the help of co-worker-turned-friend-Owen – Judith vies to track her down, even if it means diving into a history that may have been better left untouched.

Show notes

In the dream, the waters are clear and warm and the air is sweet. The sun is shining.

But... that can't be right. That's not how this works. And in dreams, Grace and Bea must both face changes they never wanted, choices they didn't make.

Meanwhile, Hollis is facing the fallout of their choices. Options they took that made things shift and shudder in ways they didn't expect. Or did they? The waters shift and move and the tides roll around them, predictable and yet entirely destructive.

Show notes

Power is slippery. When you have it - if you have it - it can be wonderful, dangerous, deadly, intoxicating. But without it? Powerlessness is disorienting, brutal, painful, terrifying. What power lies within it, though? Bea is carrying more than she thinks in ways she doesn't expect. If this gets her what she wants, will it all be ok again? Nothing comes without a price. Nothing comes without more questions. Nothing is as simple as it seems.

PROMO: Harvey in Hell E1 - "Starlight Pond" Jul 10, 2026

Show notes

Hello listeners, it's Alex. If you're looking for Woodbine, don't worry, we'll be back soon with Season 3, but for now, if you're looking for something to listen to, you might want to check out Harvey In Hell, a new show from Christopher Scott McClure, creator of the award-winning fiction podcast The Milkman of St. Gaff's — a supernatural mystery show about childhood, memory, and the things we're willing to believe to survive.

The series follows John Harvey Coots, an FBI profiler who might have chosen the wrong line of work, as he arrives in the desert town of Sunnyside, Nevada, searching for missing children along with confronting the ghosts of his own childhood. As anyone who’s been to Nevada knows, he finds a hellish lake of fire, a Christmas-themed casino, and a town built on secrets. And a few Southern Ontario references for good measure.

Supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Season 2 premieres this summer.

If you want to get a taste for the show, keep listening to the episode included here. As for us, we'll be back in the fall with more Woodbine, so keep your ears out. We'll see you soon.

20: ROWAN Nov 26, 2025

Show notes

Everyone is trapped by something. Maybe you're in a house you can't leave, maybe you're in a meeting that never seems to end, and maybe you're stuck in a situation where any good outcome is slipping away, every opportunity to make change is disappearing. For Bea and Grace, their chances of escape are slimming quickly. But it's not just them who are in trouble...

So maybe you are trapped in a room, or in an untenable position, or a job you can't leave, or between a ravenous crowd and a broken window. Maybe there is a way out, just not the one you wanted. You can't walk away, you can only escape. You can run.

For everyone, the walls are closing in, whether they realize it or not.

19: SUGARBERRY Nov 19, 2025

Show notes

Things are shifting, the ground is soft underfoot. You can't trust where you're stepping, and collapse is imminent. But what does it mean to collapse? To fall, to crumple to the ground? To relax against someone, exhausted and needing that weight against you as comfort? To lose something intangible, something you didn't know was so integral to your very ability to stand on your own? To pull away the thing holding an entire place up, just to watch it crumble? Bea, Grace, Hollis, and Lennox are now faced with what it means to collapse. What waits for them on the other side?
