    Goddesses: The Mórrigan Oct 03, 2023

    In Irish-Celtic mythology, the Mórrigan is the goddess of war and fate. Among her many powers, her ability to shapeshift inspires bravery in her comrades and fear in her enemies. The Mórrigan is often depicted as a crow, a popular symbol of death for the Celtic people. She is most known for being able to foresee the future, especially in relation to death and victory on the battlefield.

    Goddesses: Athena Oct 02, 2023

    Athena was one of the major deities of the Greek pantheon known as the Twelve Olympians. She is the goddess of wisdom, war, and craftwork. While she helped guide and provide counsel for many famous Greek heroes, she could also be wrathful and punishing.

    Trendsetters: Sybil Connolly Sep 29, 2023

    Sybil Connolly (1921-1998) designed dresses for Jackie Kennedy and put Irish fashion on the map. Her designs introduced traditional linens and tweed to an international audience, and shook up the fashion world.

    Trendsetters: Edith Head Sep 28, 2023

    Edith Head (1897-1981) was a prolific costume designer during the Golden Age of Hollywood. During her five-decade-long career, she was nominated for 35 Academy Awards and won eight. She helped transform stars like Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and many more into the iconic characters they are remembered for today.

    Trendsetters: Emily Post Sep 27, 2023

    Emily Post (c. 1870s - 1960) wrote one of the most popular books on etiquette. A novelist, columnist, and radio personality, Emily’s 1922 book Etiquette in Society, in Business, in Politics and At Home was the pivot point that turned her into a superstar. As a teen, Emily was very popular in the elite New York debutante balls, and with her etiquette handbook her influence continued to have authority in the scene and among broader society.

    Elsa Schiaparelli (1890 - 1973) was a designer known for her eccentric fashions and surrealist collaborations with artist Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau. Her collections were famous for unconventional and artistic themes like the human body, insects, and for the use of bright colors like her "shocking pink".

    Trendsetters: Elsa Maxwell Sep 25, 2023

    Elsa Maxwell (1881-163) was the original “hostess with the mostess.” Credited with the introduction of the scavenger hunt and the murder mystery party, she rose to prominence through sheer will and found her fame hosting parties for the rich and famous in Europe and New York City. She believed a true, original idea would make for a better party than even the finest dining and champagne.
