188. MURDER: The Osage Reign of Terror Oct 07, 2022

Show notes

(This episode was originally released as an extra Patreon episode, but it’s one that we want more people to know about, so here it is on the regular feed!) This story enrages us. Just be prepared. In the late 19th century, oil was found on land owned by the Osage people in Oklahoma. By the 1920s, this oil, as well as smart negotiating moves by the Osage, would make the Osage people “the richest nation, clan, or social group of any race on earth, including the whites, man for man.” Of course, this made the Osage targets of those who wanted their money. And just wait until you hear how this all played out.
