#241 - Clay Aiken - Measure of a Man Feb 24, 2026

Show notes

This week we remember a simpler time. The year was 2003, America was spreading democracy far and wide, scientists had just mapped 99% of the human genome, and Clay-mania was (apparently) sweeping the nation. That's right we're talking about that guy who almost won American Idol, Clay Aiken, and his debut album Measure of a Man.

Show notes

This week we are listening to the Roger Waters solo album Radio K.A.O.S. released June 15, 1987. Get ready to dive deep into a concept album about a disabled boy that can hear radio waves and control global missile systems with a cordless phone, no really. I'm serious, listen to the episode that is what this album is actually about.

In this episode we discuss Gino's heroes, how to pronounce Roger in "english", shaving your eyebrows for help, the mines of Wales, The Good Son, shakuhachis, how Superman tunes out everyone's screams, how not to edit a concept album, Margaret Thatcher, the purpose of liner notes and so much more! #238 - Insane Clown Posse - The Naught Dec 23, 2025

Show notes

This week we celebrate the season by listening to the Insane Clown Posse and wishing you all a very merry ICPissmas! We are listening to the brand new album The Naught, released Aug. 12, 2025. Fair warning, it isn't all Faygo and murder this time dear listeners. These clowns are getting older and beginning to fill their songs with existential dread and fears about their own mortality (it's pretty funny).

In this episode we discuss poorly designed demons, Tim claims Jesus is a clown, pathological aging, spontaneous games of pickup basketball, how to celebrate this strange holiday we made up, if ICP is now writing songs about our show, the dangers of online dating and subsequent catfishing, undercover Van Helsing sting operations, a debate about which host is "softer", bed wetting, existential dread, and so much more! Prepisode #138 - New Kids On The Block - Funky Funky Xmas Dec 16, 2025

Show notes

This week we are discussing the New Kids on the Block song Funky Funky Xmas, released in 1989. This blast from the past was meant to be a way to bring holiday cheer and remember a simpler time. Instead it's the story of a shameless cash-grab with several questionable figures, even more neglected children, and way too many Wahlbergs, enjoy.

Also in this prepisode music news of the weird, listener emails and we announce next week's album. In this episode we discuss Tim's latest failed business idea, some very troubling facts about Mark Wahlberg, the limits of merchandising, Tim's unironic defense of Donnie Wahlberg's acting career, Arsenio Hall, how magical is Santa exactly, how much one of our listeners really hates Tim, and so much more! #237 - Blues Traveler - Four Dec 09, 2025

Show notes

This week we're talking about an album that attempted to ruin the harmonica for an entire generation. A band that is simultaneously so talented, repetitive, and even at times boring that it defies all logic. We are of course talking about Blues Traveler and their album Four, released September 13, 1994.

In this episode we discuss what season we are currently in, heated debate about what a hepcat is, David Letterman's obsession with drums, how many harmonica solos are too many, Tim's terrible hobbies, falling for traveling clowns, fighting a shark, how to pull a prank live on the podcast and so much more!
