Reissue: Girls and Corpses Magazine Oct 13, 2026
    Show notes

*This episode originally aired on October 31, 2024*

At the end of last week's episode, "The Bloody Battle Over Scream 4," Dara and Troy talked about Ariana Madix's stint as a Girls and Corpses magazine model.

Here's a spooky season rerelease of an episode we did covering Sheri Moon Zombie on the cover of G&C. Keep in mind, this episode was before our rebrand, so the format is a little different.

We talk about the lore behind this magazine, the Playboy parody photo spread, its former cover models, Courtney Stodden and Teen Mom's Farrah Abraham, and where those corpses actually come from. We also get into horror movies and the Rob Zomb-ification of the Halloween franchise.

The Cut: Selena Gomez and Her Mother's Failed Start-Up Sep 04, 2026
    Show notes

This week, we're covering the September 2025 article from The Cut:

    What Happened at Wondermind?

Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, flipped their mental-health journeys into a buzzy start-up. It all fell apart.

    By Angelina Chapin

"Wondermind was supposed to build a world of mental-health-related content — through a website, podcasts, TV shows, and films — and its mission was lofty: to “destigmatize” mental-health problems and “democratize” its care. [...} Something to the opposite effect seems to have played out at Wondermind. Out of 29 former and current employees, 14 agreed to speak with me, most on the condition of anonymity. According to dozens of conversations, the company’s grand mission and basic operations were tanked by Gomez’s and Teefey’s personal and family dysfunction, including the denial of Teefey’s instability."

This episode has everything you want: child stars, toxic mother/daughter relationships, polyamorous lesbians, one Sex and the City reference, and ashwagandha Cheetos.
