Authors Who Killed Their Husbands May 30, 2023

Daniel Brophy, a chef and instructor at the Oregon Culinary Institute in Portland, was found dead by his students in 2018. Daniel's wife, author Nancy Brophy, became a suspect because of a blog post she wrote titled ‘How to Murder Your Husband’ and her lengthy search history containing different ways to murder someone.

Kouri Richins, a Utah-based author known for writing a children's book on grief after her husband, Eric Richins, died titled ‘Are You With Me?’ was arrested and charged with the murder of Eric. She was accused of poisoning her husband with fentanyl in order to receive a huge payout from his will, but to her surprise, she was no longer on his will.

Elisabeth Finch: Grey's Anatomy Writer Who Faked Cancer May 23, 2023

Elisabeth Finch was a writer on Gray's Anatomy for over 6 years. She told her colleagues she had been diagnosed with a rare bone cancer, had an abortion because of chemotherapy, experienced sexual assault, and had a friend die in a horrific shooting, which she wrote into storylines. She was given special treatment to accommodate her illness, including extra time off to travel to the Mayo Clinic. But when an email arrived to Shonda Rhimes' production company claiming it was all a lie, Elisabeth had to come clean.

Nicholas Alahverdian aka Arthur Knight May 16, 2023

Nicholas Alahverdian aka Nicholas Rossi aka Arthur Knight, was an outspoken advocate for Rhode Island foster children, often spending time at the State House lobbying officials, died in February 2020. At least that’s what his obituary says. However, US authorities say he’s a con artist and sex offender who faked his own death to avoid charges. He was located in Scotland using the name Arthur Knight, claiming to be an Irish orphan. He gave a bizarre interview where he used a comical fake accent while wearing an oxygen mask.

Author Who Faked Her Death May 09, 2023

In 2020, the romance novel community was saddened to learn that author Susan Meachen died by suicide. On Facebook, Susan’s daughter asked for people to buy her mother’s book and donate to their family’s GoFundMe in honor of Susan. Two years later, the community was stunned to learn Susan was alive and well. She had also infiltrated the Facebook group as a fake member, accusing people of bullying Susan and causing her suicide.

The Barefoot Bandit May 02, 2023

In 2007 a teenager from Washington was in the news for being a fugitive. His name is Colton Harris-Moore and he managed to elude police through a bunch of crimes involving stolen cars, boats, and even airplanes. He was known as the "Barefoot Bandit" because he rarely wore shoes while committing these crimes. He had a huge fan base online, but after two years on the run, he was captured in 2010 after crash-landing a stolen plane in the Bahamas.
