    We Hate Movies

Since 2010, the We Hate Movies podcast has been loudly celebrating and tearing apart movies from across the spectrum: from forgotten ’80s actioners and insane romantic comedies of the ’90s, to the early CGI blockbusters of the aughts and the hyper-nostalgic franchises of the 2010s and today. Every week, comedians Andrew Jupin, Stephen Sajdak, Eric Szyszka, and Chris Cabin pick a movie from the near-past to discuss and joke around about in all its positive and negative glory.

    S14 Ep739: House on Haunted Hill (1999) May 14, 2024
Show notes “I’ll say it: Chris Kattan? Best part of this movie!” - Steve
On this week’s episode, we’re finally chatting about the “bad-ass” horror remake, House on Haunted Hill! Did any of those numerous deleted scenes maybe have more character details by any chance? Why couldn’t Jeffrey Combs have played a larger role in this movie? How does Geoffrey Rush look so much like Vincent Price in this and they refused to come out and say it— the guy’s named Price to boot, so c’mon! And did anybody else have the Mandela Effect bad memory that Kattan’s character got it in the first fifteen minutes? PLUS: Haunted houses need companionship too!
House on Haunted Hill stars Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen, Taye Diggs, Peter Gallagher, Chris Kattan, Ali Larter, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, Max Perlich, Lisa Loeb, James Marsters, Peter Graves, and Jeffrey Combs as Dr. Vannacutt; directed by William Malone.

How great is the chemistry between the two Sheen brothers on screen? What a great spice Keith David is to throw in here— total legend! What kind of character name is Charlie’s here, with this Zane Zaminsky? If this movie was more popular, would there have been Zane Zaminsky Halloween costumes with the glasses, buzzed haircut and goatee?
