    Karrie Beth sits down with Watonga Street and Alley superintendant Justin Wooldridge and operator, R’Derick Hampton, two of the five man crew of the Watonga Street and Alley crew, to discuss the department official duties. February 2023, since Veterans Waste Solutions contract went into effect, Justin explains the Street and Alley responsibilities. He also gives us a quick look into the timeline for the upcoming July and August blacktop season for “asphalt” overlays on roadways. He shares the departments process of working with the Watonga Code enforcement after a lien is placed upon a property that is in a violation of City of Watonga ordinances and the multitude of work orders that they receive throughout each month. Justin shares the details during the town wide “Month long clean up” in April, and how he and his crew hauled and eliminated 354,000 lbs of limbs and junk, 50 Roll Offs of debris and property clutter/junk was removed from our community. The largest amount the state has received! Justin explains and educates on the value and need of our Street and Alley department for the maintenance and overall health of the City of Watonga and the commitment he and his department have in serving our community. The Ferguson Museum will be hosting our community coffee the month of July on the 20th at 9a, all citizens are welcome to attend and network with other community members.     Kerrie Beth Little hosts with special guest, Watonga City Economic Coordinator, Kim Jenkins. In todays episode we talk about the past Coffee Social success hosted by CTTC CDL school. The opportunities CTTC offers to both student and adult programs; including Real Estate licensing class, infrastructure classes, Cleet training, and so much more. Karrie Beth also touched on the special council meeting held on June 13th, and the next holiday office closing for Juneteenth. For citizen clarification, Karrie Beth dives into explaining the Sales Tax percentage breakdown for the City of Watonga. Kim and Karrie Beth share about investing in our community through volunteering and the opportunity citizens can have in helping with upcoming events like the 4th of July Bash here in Watonga at Huff Lorang Park. The City will be offering FREE FOOD, fun games, bike parade contest, live music and of course a phenomenal fireworks display by the Watonga Lions Club! #BetterTogetherWatonga

    Watonga City Manager, Karrie Beth talks to Watonga Regional airport manager, Jena Ohman about the upcoming Watonga Regional Airport (JWG Watonga’s call letters) Fly In/breakfast May 27th. They also highlight and discuss the improvements over the last 6 years, including the AWOS Weather 3 System. This and other improvements that have been made to our Airport, and this past years appropriations made by a 2 million dollar grant to improve our new runway and the airports future plans. Also Karrie Beth updates us on the grand opening of “The Lookout!” Roman Nose State Parks new restaurant. The restaurant is set to have the Grand Opening Tuesday, May 23rd at 6pm.
