GrandPOOBear is a full time Twich streamer, Youtuber and speedrunner, best known for his top level Mario gameplay. He has been featured on news sites such as Kotaku, IGN, Forbes Magazine, and Destructoid.

Jaku is world renowned for his security research in multiple areas. Jaku and his research has been featured by media including: Wired, Network World, The Washington Post, eWeek, PC World, CNET, Computerworld, CNN, Gizmodo, NPR & Forbes. Jaku is the original owner and creator of the Warp World franchise and leads the team towards the future of gaming.

xWater is an enthusiastic content creator, sharing his passion of gaming full time here on the Podcast, Youtube, Twitch, and just about everywhere else. Known mostly for disgusting shower habits, he’s also a talented player across a number of genres. There is nothing he WONT do!

Together they talk about cool new technology, streaming news, as well as overall gaming news.

The 2017 Game Awards were live last week, with Breath of the Wild being crowned the game of the year. How do GrandPOObear, Jaku, and Xwater feel about this decision? They also talk about how they feel about the rest of the nominees for game of the year and debate what exactly makes a game worthy of the title. In addition to the actual awards being given, there were numerous game reveals and trailers shown at the event. There was also a new Mega Man game announced. However, Poo, Jaku, and Xwater aren’t exactly thrilled about the game’s choice of art style. The 3D look in a 2D game has been tried before, how has it typically held up? Poo, Jaku, and Xwater talk about the new Detective Pikachu movie and answer some listener questions about whether or not video games should be considered art. While Xwater is napping, GrandPOOBear and Jaku talk about a new glitch found in Super Mario Odyssey that allows players to easily get 99,999 jumps for the jump-rope minigame. This prompts a discussion on whether or not glitches should be used in speedruns, and how in some cases they make watching a speedrun more interesting and other times less. Streamlabs has acquired Ankhbot and Poo and Jaku talk about the alert systems that they use for their streams. They ask the question: Is the streaming community better or worse off with this? Xwater wakes up and joins Poo and Jaku for some listener questions about donations and about the difference between Eastern and Western speedrunning communities. This week on the Warp World Podcast, Jaku and Xwater examine what exactly went wrong with EA’s treatment of microtransactions in Star Wars Battlefront 2 and how they eventually removed them completely after the public backlash to the system. This prompted a talk on microtransactions in gaming in general, whether it be through loot crates or DLC. The Game of the Year nominees were announced and Jaku and Xwater gave their opinions on the nominations. They debate whether PUBG should be included since it’s still technically in beta. Jaku and Xwater spoke with SirStendec, developer of the FrankerFaceZ plugin to enhance the Twitch experience about how he’s adapting to the changes recently made to the Twitch website. They also talk about some of the upcoming features to FrankerFaceZ. Check out the Reddit AMA that SirStendec did if you have more questions you’d like answered by him! They share their stories from TwitchCon and the first ever Mario Maker Colosseum! Not every event is without flaws however, and our hosts talk about how events like these could be improved. Super Mario Odyssey was released over the weekend for the Nintendo Switch and everyone is excited about it. Poo, Jaku, and Xwater have spoiler free discussion about the game and talk about the game’s very few flaws. Jaku and Xwater then have a spoiler filled talk about everything they enjoyed with the game. There will be a spoiler warning before they dive into it so make sure you avoid spoilers if you have not yet played/beaten the game! The winner of the Nintendo Switch giveaway is announced during the show! This happens before the spoiler talk so you can find out who won without being worried about spoilers.
