This week on Wrestling Omakase we talk a crazy 14-man elimination tag from Dragon Gate, a coming out party for a super rookie in STARDOM, a WWE classic from 2004, a rare good match for Yujiro Takahashi and an infamous TNA tag sprint from 2008. If you haven't listened to a 5 Matches episode yet, every week John and the guest each choose 2 matches to watch and talk about on the episode. Then we each choose a third match, which is put up to a vote on the @wrestleomakase Twitter account (or on the Patreon!), letting the listeners choose our fifth and final match of the week. It's a fun retro format featuring all sorts of different wrestling!
Wrestling Omakase's Patreon (http://patreon.com/wrestlingomakase) brings you tons of awesome bonus audio featuring both historical and current content. If you like 5 Matches episodes you can listen to four Patreon-exclusive full episodes right now from June & July, plus there's another one coming up next week with guest Todd Martin of the PWTorch. You can also hear our completed series covering every Okada-Tanahashi match in chronological order, plus our in progress series doing the same for every Naito-Ishii match as well. And for current wrestling, check out our exclusive Sengoku Lord review from next week, and upcoming tournament coverage of the King of DDT next week. Plus, Anime Omakase covering the wide world of anime and a whole lot more! All of this is yours for only $5 per month, so sign up today at http://patreon.com/wrestlingomakase!
John is joined by returning guest Andrew Rich (@andrewtrich), host of the VOW network podcast Music of the Mat. We talk a little bit about the neverending boredom of our current pandemic lives, because really what else is there to talk about, before John makes a brief but impassioned plea for everyone to #WatchHameFura. We then get into this week's 5 Matches, which in order are:
1. Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino, Magnitude Kishiwada, Gamma, Cyber Kong, Genki Horiguchi & Jack Evans vs. CIMA, Ryo Saito, Susumu Yokosuka, Dragon Kid, BxB Hulk, Anthony W. Mori & Matt Sydal, DG 4/17/07 (https://www.bilibili.com/video/av65526322/, Note: Does not work on mobile, only desktop)
