Show notes
This week on Wrestling Omakase we take a completely randomized look at events from the Tokyo Dome!
The Wrestling Omakase Patreon is your best source for coverage of Japanese wrestling, from yesterday and today. Patrons get so much bonus audio that never hits the free feed, most notably two full length exclusive episodes per month. Most recently we covered the finals of the AJPW Champion Carnival and both nights of NJPW Wrestling Dontaku, exclusively on the Patreon. Throughout the rest of May we'll also be presenting a new 1 Match series on a famous NJPW rivalry (likely Naito vs. Tanahashi, but the poll to select which one is still open!), so come follow along with us on each and every match in a legendary feud! Plus, you get all of our past content, including full tournament coverage of the Champion Carnival, tons of past exclusive episodes and much more. You can get access to all of this and much more right now for only $5 at www.patreon.com/wrestlingomakase!
John is joined by returning guest and longtime friend Quinlan (@IM_NOT_QUINLAN) for his first episode on the free feed in quite a while. They talk a little bit about John's birthday party last week and the topic of vomit makes a surprise appearance (??), but then it's right down to business: six randomly selected matches from six different Tokyo Domes! Of course there's no main events here since we're covering every single Tokyo Dome main event in order back on the Patreon, but that didn't stop us from putting every single Dome show in history into the randomizer and getting six random shows, then selecting any match from each show other than the main event! You can see what we got below, unless you'd rather be surprised as you listen (in which case you should stop reading right now!):
AJPW King's Road New Century: Masanobu Fuchi vs. Jushin Thunder Liger, 1/28/01 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKlHPJj9bcE)

Topics that come up along the way include: heading into the DANGER ZONE, lots of boring holds (but it gets better), MISTER Backlund, Dory Funk Jr. stopped aging at some point, the prototype for all those late Brock WWE matches, Bob Sapp is the greatest and the worst wrestler of all time simultaneously, Suzuki and Nagata get bloody, why would you pull someone up when the Triple Crown is on the line, boy do we miss Shibata, going out on your sword, Let Us Take You Back To A Time When Chris Jericho Was Still Great, both these guys just bump like crazy, and white belt acceptance.
