Sport Industry Executive, Advocate, Former Athlete and Founder of VIS®, Stef Strack explores the journey of female athletes by sharing untold stories on topics rarely discussed like mental health, body image, female specific sports science and nutrition. Stef hosts a conversation with female athletes, at all levels, inspiring us all to raise our voice, keep playing and change more than just the game.

Elise emphasizes the importance of building a strong support system, appreciating our own individual journeys, finding confidence in ourselves, and embracing change.

    Mary Cain, Professional Runner and VIS League™ Member, describes her journey in sport as one of struggle and courage. Mary became the youngest American athlete ever to represent the United States at a world championship at just 17 years of age. Following her high school career, she ran professionally for the Nike Oregon Project under Coach Alberto Salazar. Today, Mary opens up about the physical and mental abuse that she faced from her coach regarding her body weight, and she walks us through the disordered eating patterns that she developed as a result and how it manifested into mental struggles and suicidal thoughts, as well as physical struggles through RED-S, amenorrhea, and the injuries that followed. Most importantly, she discusses how she overcame these challenges, and she reminds us to be willing to ask for help, to keep the journey fun, and to strive to change more than just the game.

    Imani Dorsey, NWSL Player for Sky Blue FC, 2018 NWSL Rookie of the Year, former Division I Student-Athlete at Duke University, 2017 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, describes her journey in sport as "invigorating, draining, but rewarding." She shares the ups and downs of her incredible journey in sport through adapting to new positions, facing criticism, and also setting and achieving lofty goals. Imani sheds light on her challenges with mental health and emphasizes the importance of balance and a strong support system in molding our lives on and off of the field. Imani encourages us to build confidence through what we bring to the team and to also find happiness outside of sport, and she reminds us all that it is okay to not be okay.

In her collegiate career, Kathryn collected honors such as NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding player, and espnW’s First Team All-American and National Player of the Year. Kathryn plans to travel overseas this season and play volleyball in a professional league in Japan. Today, she shares her incredible journey in sport and offers a powerful perspective on being vulnerable and asking for help. She also reminds us all to embrace our athletic bodies and to be positive and gentle with ourselves.
