Surface Noise (A-Side) | We Came, We Saw, We Waited for a Shipping Notification Aug 23, 2024

Show notes

Coming at you on the A-Side, SURFACE NOISE is back for your weekly look at the bloodsport that is vinyl record collecting. Latest news, reviews, and escapes from the zoo documented here for all to hear. Topics for this presentation include:

(1) Repeal the Seal: lots of videos of late dealing with this topic, and discovering that deadstock/long sealed records have damage (foxing/ghosting/hazing, warps, paper/label deterioration/etc) inside. Where do our panelists land on this topic and any horror stories for opening long-sealed records purchased that way? (2) Trading Up: stories or scenarios where you traded records you owned (doubles? gifts?) for upgrades/grails/more desirable pieces. Where and who did you do the trading? Did it take some "nurturing" to get the deal across the finish line? etc (3) Records our vinylists own that may surprise other people/that they wouldn't normally associate your taste(s) with All that and MORE on the latest SURFACE NOISE: A-SIDE!
