Very Random Encounters: Chaotic Improv Actual Play

Welcome to Very Random Encounters, a show where we play pen and paper RPGs in which we’ve randomly determined as many things as is possible, including characters, villains, names, places, and other weirder stuff! It all comes together to be a very random encounter. We’re an actual play roleplaying game podcast by four friends who love the challenge of telling a story whose details are all prompted by random rolls. You can start with the first episode in any given season.

Star Wars #2: Spaceship Parking Ticket Mar 23, 2020

Show notes

With the defeat of the separatists and the destruction of the traitorous Jedi, the Empire has brought peace to the galaxy. A new wave of hope and prosperity washes across the galaxy - at least to those who fit the Empire’s ideals or are willing to bow to the Emperor’s will.

But many are learning the true cost of the Empire’s vision of peace. Those unwilling to give up everything to the Empire willingly end up having everything taken by force instead. Worlds that once stood proud and independent find themselves under the heavy boot of the Empire and everyone has begun to feel the cold grip of the iron fist of the Emperor.

In this growing darkness, people are doing what they can to survive and hope for a brighter day. Not everyone in the galaxy is destined for greatness. This is their story.

Very Random Podcasting (Patreon Bonus Content Preview) Jan 27, 2020

Show notes

Quick reminder - we are on a little break to build up a buffer for the show, so we won’t be uploading an episode next week (February 3), then we’ll be back with another piece of bonus content the week of February 10, then off the week of the 17th, and back to normal, weekly schedule (starting with a mini-season with a special guest) on Feb 24.

What you’re about to listen to is an example of our bonus show, Very Random Podcasting, where we take random topics and make a podcast about whichever one we roll up! This one is about boardgames we loved as kids, and it’s really fun. If you enjoy it, there’s plenty more where this came from at patreon.com/VRE. If you back us at $5 or more, you get access to ALL the VRPs, ALL of our learning episodes, and a bunch of other cool extras. Ok, here’s Very Random Podcasting! Enjoy.
