On this episode of V8 Radio, Mike Clarke and Kevin Oeste dive into a behind-the-scenes scenario regarding an unusual error faced by the V8 Speed and Resto Shop Crew on a project that’s nearly complete, but not quite yet. The car is the sweet 1969 Camaro heavily modified with a Detroit Speed suspension system, Baer Brakes, Forgeline Wheels, Vintage Air, C and R Radiator, Currie rear axle, Hydratech brake booster, sticky Toyo tires, and more. The big recent upgrade comes in the form of a 700+ horsepower GM LT-4 supercharged V8, and so far, it’s been a heck of a ride. However, the calibration in the ECM is doing a few funky things during the accelerating upshifting process. We’re working with GM on a solution, but sometimes you have to work around quirks when you build custom cars. This, automotive trivia questions, a nod to NASA Flight Director Gene Kranz, and news on an upcoming V8TV production at the Performance Racing Industry show in Indianapolis! Whew, that’s a big episode of V8 Radio!
