We kick off the talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson's wine shots story at science parties and go all the way to the theory of "love lakes" and dinosaur sex... we were curious... Dustin shares with us fun facts about our favorite dinosaurs, what is the most important part of his storytelling craft as the museum tour guide, his experience on fieldwork, and his relationship with paleontologists. We debate the "Origin of Species" and its position today, Prehistoric Planet, Jurassic Park, and other adaptations. Dustin is the legit dinosaur expert!

    One of the top experts in the world of numismatics, Jeff Garrett sold more than 25 million dollars worth of rare coins and precious metals, he authored books like "100 Greatest U.S. Coins" and "United States Coinage: A Study By Type" and is the former president of ANA. During our very interesting talk, he told us fascinating stories about his 3+ million dollar purchase of a 1913 Liberty Head V nickel, how he started collecting coins and what is the most expensive piece he sold, and is there room for conspiracy in the infamous Denver's mint 1964 Peace dollar? Mr. Garrett explained the art behind the incredible work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens on the Double Eagle coin and President Theodore Roosevelt's involvement in it. We got to know why is he proudest of his role with the Smithsonian museum and his influence in opening a permanent gallery of numismatics in the American Museum of Natural History. We discuss the connection between currency and national pride, the importance to plant numismatics seeds, and what the future holds for the hobby. We even talked about Pawn Stars and his involvement in the series, and also the only Montenegrin national currency - perper. Numismatics is interesting!

    We had the honor of talking to the living legend of the comic book industry, writing credits pioneer, Inkpot award winner, and Will Eisner Hall of Famer - Marv Wolfman. Wandering Wolfman is famous for his work on Teen Titans, Superman, Nova, and iconic storylines like Crisis on Infinite Earths and The Tomb of Dracula. Wolfman explains his philosophy behind creating characters that are heroes and villains that will last. We talk about his admiration for Stan Lee and how Stan influenced him both as a fan and a writer and shared the office with him. Marv talks about his thoughts on the continuity in comic books today, and the writing process back in his days. We discuss the best incarnations of Superman and the reception for Blade. We asked how Mr. Wolfman felt seeing screen adaptations of his characters and does he read their new stories. Marv talks about the infamous decision to kill Barry Allen's Flash and how George Perez joined Crisis on Infinite Earths, imoact of Star Wars, and many more things.

    When you come across astonishing images made by James Webb Space Telescope, you are looking at the hard work of a team of geniuses, and we talked with one of the men at the helm - Dr. John C. Mather, JWST senior project scientist and 2006 Nobel Prize in Physics laureate, who was listed among the 100 Most Influential People in the World, probably because he cemented The Big Bang Theory. We started the conversation by asking how Dr. Mather became the scientist he is today and goon to discuss the COBE project, the birth, and implementation of the JWST idea, including setbacks and issues that the project had to overcome, and how Dr. Mather felt about the launching day. We heard his personal opinion on some of the common questions like whether is Oumuamua natural, how tough would it be to settle on Mars, how the search for extraterrestrial life will proceed, and why he is sure we’ve not made a contact yet. We got an insight into what the next NASA telescope will focus on and learned about merging galaxies, habitable zone, potential signs of life forms, quasars, black holes, and many more.


    Worldbuilding: Fascinating New Worlds Jan 11, 2023

    Across many forms of storytelling, one of the essential parts of a good experience is the world that the author presents and builds across the length of the story. Whether those are fantasy worlds filled with dragons, goblins and fairies, many versions of dystopian nightmares, or sci-fi futures powered by spaceships and distant planets, the best writers can make you experience these places as if you are living in them. We discuss how Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is the prime example of world building and share our opinion about Tolkien’s writing. Peter controverisally mentions Star Wars Universe and we debate what is the pinnacle of reading experience.
