What is really happening behind the headlines—and how do military veterans and former intelligence professionals interpret the rapidly changing global landscape?
In this month’s Global Defense Forum, host John Michael Chambers brings together an experienced panel featuring Michael Jaco, retired Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Bosi, Dr. Lee Merritt, and Derek Johnson for an expansive discussion examining geopolitics, military strategy, economics, national security, and the larger forces they believe are shaping current events.
The conversation opens with Iran, the Strait of Hormuz, economic sanctions, nuclear concerns, and the use of financial pressure as a weapon of modern warfare. The panel shares its perspectives on how military, economic, and geopolitical strategies may intersect as tensions continue to evolve.
From there, the discussion expands into Canada, immigration, cultural conflict, national sovereignty, military authority, and the role of the National Guard, with panelists drawing on their own military backgrounds and personal interpretations of unfolding events.
A major portion of the conversation focuses on the financial system.
The panel examines theories surrounding:
• The U.S. national debt
• Financial fraud and restitution
• Constitutional and sound money
• Gold and silver
• The future of the U.S. dollar
• Universal income
• Returning wealth and economic power to citizens
• The possibility of major restructuring within the financial system
The group also discusses reported threats against members of the Trump family and the broader national-security implications surrounding political violence and instability.
Later, the conversation turns toward the changing nature of warfare.
Ricardo Bosi breaks down the evolution from traditional kinetic warfare to network-centric warfare and systems-destruction warfare, explaining how cyber capabilities, communications networks, satellites, information systems, electronic warfare, and artificial intelligence have transformed the modern battlefield.
Dr. Lee Merritt and the other panelists also bring forward topics extending beyond conventional geopolitics, exploring questions surrounding emerging technology, health, consciousness, science, and the increasingly unconventional nature of modern conflict.
This is a wide-ranging discussion designed to look beyond individual headlines and examine how military strategy, economics, information warfare, politics, technology, and global power structures may be interacting at the same time.
