Antoine from Stretch the Culture podcast joins us in the Detroit is Different studios for an episode felt with coming back to the things that he loves. Antoine proves to us that he’s not just straddling the thin line between being an Art Hoe and being a Unicorn, he’s actually a Unicorn on fire because we don’t do Phoenixes around these parts. Lastly we discover that Erin just might have a future career in voice over acting with her Riley from Boondocks impression.

Unicorns Are Real is art. We are two quirky like-minded, yet very different young adult females (Asia aka “Miss Dobbins”/ Erin aka Pineapple or The Quirky Natural) exploring ALL aspects of art. A Unicorn is an artist--a one of a kind individual--with the compassion to create for oneself. We are Unicorns with a passion to construct art that will display our innerselves. Erin is well versed in various art forms such as painting, drawing, and poetry, but she excels in all things digital; her abilities behind the camera and on Adobe software are outstanding. Miss Dobbins is the complete opposite, she has little training in anything technological, but she thrives with a paintbrush and/or piece of charcoal. Music, music, with more music, and with a touch of other other topics. Fresco is an artist that is in the music industry that creates fresh and innovative, yet timeless sounds. He is also the mastermind behind the Unicorns Are Real original introduction/outro song! We began the episode with our funfilled, creative, and sometimes revealing segments to make our guest have flashbacks of some of our favorite/despised artists that caused uproar for some of us. Conversations will reveal which of us (co-hosts) is the so-called Charlamagne Tha God. Strong personalities and extremely different views on artists were discussed and battled. Although we all had varying opinions on those topics, our round table was filled with laughter and lovely vibes.

Our Homies, Sometimes Our Foes, Our Ride or Dies--The Art Hoes

We had our closest friends join us, Marisa / Angélica, our Art Hoes to explore our growth in creativity. To be an Art Hoe is to be a lover of artistry, but without being a creative. They are necessary to the existence of us artists. Examination of our creative lives brought up conversations about the individual quirkiness that we both possess. Short stories of our weird and successful projects were also told. The Art Hoes did not fail to shower us with insults that were of course stated with love. As we all participated in various segments, such as Passing Out Roses, Staying Fly, Color Your Life, Unicorns Are Real, and Rep Yo Week we also blessed listeners with hilarious conversation about the lives of real life Unicorns.
