#041 - Is It Dangerous to Get Married Young? Jun 03, 2022
    Show notes

Earlier this year, a listener sent me an article on how studies are revealing that those who do not first live with their partners before getting married have the lowest chance of divorce, even when they get married young.

In this episode, we discuss what this means, how marriage is complex for people coming from non-Christian backgrounds, whether it's wise to get married young, and what it means when someone is not married and they're getting older.

I'd love to hear your feedback on the episode. Be sure to rate and review the podcast to let us know what you thought.

#040 - My Life Story with Kendrick Byler May 18, 2022
    Show notes

Kendrick Byler from Let It Shine recently interviewed me for his podcast. He asked me to share my life story. He particularly asked about key moments in my spiritual formation as well as what I would tell my younger self. With Kendrick's permission, I thought I'd share this episode with you as a way of hearing more of my own personal story.

#039 - What Overturning Roe Means for Christians May 13, 2022
    Show notes

In this week's episode we discuss the recent leak about SCOTUS overturning Roe v. Wade. Is this a good thing? Why should we celebrate it? What does this mean for Christians? Would overturning Roe eliminate abortion? What else should Christians do to fight abortion?

#038 - How Can Christians Disagree in Love on Social Media? (Seth Richey) May 06, 2022
    Show notes

It's no secret that discussions on social media can be extremely volatile and toxic. What's really sad is when even Christians get caught up in arguments and attacks.

I'm honored to have a new friend on the pod who has modeled to me what it looks like to disagree while still showing respect and love. Seth Richey doesn't always agree with everything I say. He has challenged me and added good counter perspective, but he always does it in love.

I want to be more like Seth.

We spend 30 minutes discussing how to know which conversations to enter on social media, which is available for members of Unfeigned Christianity. If you'd like to become a member and access all our content, visit www.asherwitmer.com/member.

#037 - Walking with Others As They Deconstruct (Christopher Witmer) Apr 29, 2022
    Show notes

There's a lot of talk about deconstruction. Some people find it dangerous and concerning. Others just are in a season of re-evaluating what they were taught or what they believe.

Is deconstruction bad? What if we find ourselves in a season of "deconstruction"? How do we navigate it?

What if we know others who are "deconstructing"? How do we walk with them? Especially if we see them coming to dangerous conclusions -- how do we walk with them?

In this episode, I'm honored to be joined by my brother to discuss how we can walk ourselves (or with others) as we/they deconstruct.

#036 - "He made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility." Apr 20, 2022
    Show notes

Maybe you've wondered why I spend time discussing racial issues. In this episode I explain why.

Contrary to some opinions, I don't discuss issues of race because I am trying to be woke or listen to left-wing media (I addresssed issues of race long before such accusations were trendy). I address these issues because central to the Gospel message is how Jesus has torn down walls of ethnic division and oppression.

Grab your Bibles, and let's dive into Ephesians.

#035 - How Christians Should Process CRT: Responding to Questions Apr 07, 2022
    Show notes

Beginning last fall, I've been writing a series of articles responding to the question, "How should Christians process CRT?" Over the course of the articles, I've received a number of questions and comments that I thought I'd take some time to respond to via a podcast episode.

In this episode we address some of the major concerns people have with CRT and how to frame the conversation in a way that gives clarity for processing the theory as Christians.

#034 - What Is the Mark of the Beast (w/ Dr. Matthew Halsted) Mar 03, 2022
    Show notes

There have been speculations about what the "mark of the beast" might be, as referenced in the Revelation of John. Recently, many have speculated that the COVID-19 vaccine might be the "mark of the beast." Is it? Can something like a vaccine be the "mark of the beast"? How are we to understand eschatology and biblical prophecy? We discuss all this and more in today's episode with Dr. Matthew Halsted.

We spent an extra 15 minutes discussing whether or not there is going to be another "beast" or "anti-Christ" rise up and what that might look like. To access that part of the podcast, become a member of Unfeigned Christianity at www.asherwitmer.com/member.

Dr. Halsted has a blog at www.matthewhalsted.com, and is in the process of writing a book on eschatology. He can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, if you'd like to follow along with his work.

#033 - How Should Christians Think about Same-Sex Attraction? (with Abram Martin & Darnell Rohrer) Feb 23, 2022
    Show notes

Is same-sex attraction lust? What causes someone to be same-sex attraction? Will I cause someone who is same-sex attracted to struggle with lust if I get too close with them? We get into all this and more in today's episode with my friends Abram Martin and Darnell Rohrer.

This episode was originally recorded as a members-only livestream for our Patreon members. The whole thing is about an hour and a half, and you can access it and other expanded versions of our podcast by visiting, www.asherwitmer.com/member.
