Plan B Recordings, Sound Black Recordings, and Bu-Mako Recordings present SUPREME SCYENCE...a gathering of forces between three DJs, three producers, three label owners, and three FRIENDS. This will be Lady B's DEBUT visit to NYC!!!! Come out and show your love! ===================================== ====================================== LADY BLACKTRONIKA, aka., "The First Lady of Beatdown" ====================================== ====================================== http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/ladyblacktronika http://www.discogs.com/artist/lady+blacktronika%2c+the Real name / Akua Marcelle Adaeze Grant Moniker(s) / The Lady Blacktronika, Lady B In 1997 she hooked up with dj friend Mattski who gave her first taste of music production doing vocals on numerous unreleased house tracks with him. Frustrated with "the boys not letting [her] play with their toys" she began trying her hand at house music and techno production in 2006, producing Beatdown tracks inspired by such Detroit greats as Theo Parrish, Moodymann, and Norma Jean Bell. In early '07 Mike Huckaby discovered her on Myspace. He introduced her to a global audience on a Detroit radio broadcast. She released her first single shortly there after on Deep Explorer in September of '07. She infuses experiences from her past in gritty street life while bringing a woman's sensitivity and emotion to the Beatdown genre and Chicago influenced House music. LADY B has been featured numerous times on Resident Advisor, scoring high marks for her soulful house production that is second to none. We are happy to have Miss Lady Blacktronika come out and play a Pre-Pride set alongside our crew and friends on Thursday the 30th.
