The Cleveland Browns officially hired Todd Monken as their next head coach, signaling a major shift toward an offense-first identity. Monken, who previously ran the Ravens’ high-powered offense with Lamar Jackson and served as the Browns’ OC in 2019, brings experience in modern schemes, tempo, and QB-friendly systems. Fans are eager to see how he will shape the offense and develop the quarterback room.
But the news quickly took a dramatic turn as reports surfaced that Jim Schwartz is reportedly done with the Browns after being passed over for the head coaching job. Schwartz, the defensive mastermind behind Cleveland’s recent success, is reportedly frustrated and may not return, highlighting the internal dysfunction that Browns ownership continues to deny.
On today’s episode of Ultimate 216, we break down what this hire means for the Browns on the field — and off it. From Monken’s offensive vision to the fallout in the locker room, this story shows that even with high-profile hires, the Browns’ internal drama is far from over. Tune in as we give our take on the chaos, the culture, and what it could mean for the 2026 season.
