Show notes

It's game day in Cleveland... again!

After last night's scheduled ALDS G5 between the New York Yankees & Cleveland Guardians was postponed due to weather, the two teams are set to square off today at 4:07 pm in a winner-takes-all game.

Nestor Cortes will get the start on short rest for the Yankees but Terry Francona has not said whether or not he'll do the same with his ace, Shane Bieber. Both Bieber and Cortes pitched excellent in Game 2 of the series.

The winner of tonight's game will play the Houston Astros in the ALCS on Wednesday.

The Cleveland Browns are reeling and the schedule only gets harder for Kevin Stefanski's squad. Jacoby Brissett and company hit the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC North Showdown. Can Nick Chubb carry this team to a W by himself?

Plus, legendary St. Ignatius football coach Chuck Kyle stops by to walk down memory lane about his legendary career.

The Cleveland Guardians are ONE win away from the ALCS! Can Aaron Civale beat the Yankees in Game 5? Oct 17, 2022

Show notes

The fans want heads to roll after the New England Patriots came to FirstEnergy Bank Stadium and embarrassed the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Kevin Stefanski, Joe Woods & Mike Priefer are ALL on the hot seat after another ugly loss for the Browns.

In the loss, Myles Garrett become the franchise's all-time leader in sacks, passing Clay Matthews Sr. atop the leaderboard.

Jacoby Brissett turned the ball over three times, something that can't happen if the Browns are going to win games. His counterpart, rookie Bailey Zappe, looked like a seasoned pro, throwing for 300+ yards and multiple touchdowns in the win.

Nick Chubb only got 12 carries in the game which is inexcusable for the NFL's leading rusher.

Defensively, the Browns looked lost again and at some point, the blame needs to fall on the feet of defensive coordinator Joe Woods.

On the other side of town, the Cleveland Guardians are gearing up for a winner-take-all Game 5 tonight vs. the New York Yankees. Cleveland took Game 3 in dramatic fashion, but fell in Game 4. Aaron Civale will get the start tonight for the Guardians.

PREDICTION TIME: The Cleveland Browns will BEAT the New England Patriots if these things happen... Oct 14, 2022

Show notes

Despite a troubling start to the 2022 season, which has now featured back-to-back games with opponents rushing for over 200 yards, Joe Woods hasn't lost any confidence in what the Browns defense can achieve this season.

The defensive coordinator gave a token of confidence in his players and coaches in his news conference Thursday four days after the Browns surrendered a season-high 465 total yards in a 30-28 loss to the Chargers — and three days before they welcome a Patriots offense with no shortage of power in their run game.

Woods knows the Browns defense needs to show an immediate turnaround. He believes they will.

"I do believe we have the talent to be a top five defense," he said. "I've said that from the start. It's my job to get us there. We're addressing issues and trying to fix it. Part of it is fundamentals and scheme, and part of it is guys doing their job. It's a little bit of everything."

Bernie Kosar: NFL isn't doing anything to help former players deal with concussions in retirement Oct 13, 2022

Show notes

A streak will end Sunday - the question is which one?

Will the Cleveland Browns snap its 2-game losing streak or will the New England Patriots fall to the Browns for the first time in 5 tries? Bill Belichick always has Cleveland's number so it's up to Kevin Stefanski to try to break the mold.

Jacoby Brissett, Nick Chubb & Amari Cooper should be able to handle business offensively but the question is who will start at QB for New England - Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe? Zappe got the W over Detroit last week but Mac Jones' status seems to be improving after spraining an ankle a few weeks back.

The Cleveland Guardians are set to play Game 2 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees tonight, if the weather holds out. Shane Bieber and Nestor Cortes are set to face off on the mound. The Guardians need to manufacture more runs in order to get a split in New York.

Show notes

The Cleveland Guardians pitching staff may be excellent, but Terry Francona's squad won't win many games scoring just one run.

The bats went cold in Game 1 of the ALCS as the New York Yankees open up the series with a 4-1 win.

The Cleveland Browns are bracing for battle against Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. As of right now, there's no word if Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe will be the team's starting QB.

Either way, this is a defense in need of a bounce back performance if Joe Woods is going to keep his job. Will Kevin Stefanski be able to make those tough decisions if he needs to?

Leroy Hoard, Robert Smith and Dave Richard join the show to help us dig into all the above topics.
