Remembering Elias Theodorou and UFC 279 recap w/ co-host Jim Florentine Sep 13, 2022

Show notes

Jim and Matt recap UFC 279’s wild game of matchmaking musical chairs with guest co-host and comedian Jim Florentine in this headlines-only edition of UFC Unfiltered!

In light of former UFC middleweight Elias Theodorou’s untimely death, Matt opens up the show with some of his favorite memories he shared with the former Ultimate Fighter winner.

The guys turn the conversation back to welterweight Nate Diaz’s submission win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 as they walk Jim Florentine through events he might've missed out on seeing such as heavyweight Chris Barnett's star-making performance and Irene Aldana's insane upkick KO.

In typical comedian fashion, Florentine fills the gaps of his MMA knowledge with his favorite combat sports clichés, saving time to talk with Matt about what it’s like breaking into the business of comedy.

Holland ends the appearance by plugging his new hip-hop songs, which Jim and Matt checked out on the air.
