    Twin Cities by Night

Welcome to Twin Cities by Night.
This channel began as a way to share our chronicles of White Wolf’s Vampire: The Masquerade, starting with the campaign that bears our name. At its heart, our storytelling embraces the darker tones of the World of Darkness—exploring themes of personal horror, morality, and the struggle against the Beast within. While Twin Cities by Night remains our flagship tale, we have since expanded to explore a wide variety of tabletop roleplaying games. Alongside our central chronicle, we’ve told stories such as Servitude (Ghouls: Fatal Addiction), Juarez on Fire (Vampire: The Masquerade), and The Ultimate Evil (Chronicles of Darkness). We’ve also ventured into mythic sagas with Scion, the raw emotions of Monsterhearts 2, the chivalric tragedy of Pendragon, and the occult mysteries of Call of Cthulhu.
Every chronicle—whether rooted in the World of Darkness or beyond—remains dedicated to what drives us most: immersive storytelling, complex characters, and the atmosphere of darkness that binds them all together.

Chronicles of Darkness: The Ultimate Evil “Institutionalized” Chapter 14: Cold Hallways, Warm Lights Jul 15, 2020
    Show notes

A license plate points toward the airport, but answers wait behind a scuffed door on the first floor. In the glow of an overworked TV and a mother’s worry, the crew seeks truth from Toby’s closest friend—careful not to break what little trust remains. Between the hush of carpeted corridors and the winter air outside, rumors harden into leads, and a name from the school’s past starts to matter.

    About the Chronicle

The Ultimate Evil is a Chronicles of Darkness story about the corruption that festers beneath faith, friendship, and forgotten memories. Set against the stark landscape of North Dakota in the late 1980s, it follows four men bound by tragedy and obsession as they confront the satanic rot infecting their community—and the cost of staring too long into its abyss.

Chronicles of Darkness: The Ultimate Evil “Institutionalized” Chapter 13: Rearview Reckoning Jul 12, 2020
    Show notes

A cold wind follows warmer truths. After a lead at the school turns stomachs and tempers, a shadow on the road forces the crew to decide how far they’ll go to look the darkness in the eye—and how to keep each other safe when the hunt starts hunting back. New resolve hardens, lines are drawn, and a number scratched in a notebook may be the first thread that finally pulls.

Eclipse Phase “Think Before Asking” Chapter 6: Cruciform Confessions Jul 10, 2020
    Show notes

On the ice-scarred moon of Fornjot, the team pushes deeper into the covenant’s habitat, tracing glitching simulspaces, broken security, and eerily cheerful religious adverts toward the truth. A covert scouting run through the chapel reveals a horrific “ritual” of pain, penance, and repetition enacted by nearly identical child morphs—echoes of the same ego punishing itself in the name of salvation. With Vector confirming that their quarry lies entombed somewhere beneath the complex, Nila and Maxine must decide how far they’re willing to go, who—if anyone—can be trusted with what they know, and whether the most dangerous thing on Fornjot is the buried device or the desperate believer who wants everything to end.

    About the Chronicle

Think Before Asking is an Eclipse Phase scenario (originally written by Anders Sandberg and adapted to second edition) run on the scum swarm Failance Recourse, a tangled mass of salvaged habitats drifting around Saturn. In this story, the player characters are Firewall sentinels embedded in a lawless, reputation-based society full of experimental morphs, illicit tech, and fringe philosophy.

Firewall suspects that a quantum-triggered antimatter device—capable of being detonated instantly from anywhere, by someone who can never be traced—has been smuggled into or through the swarm. The chronicle follows Vector, Nila, and Maxine as they navigate scum politics, shady pilots, and fragile social networks, trying to locate the weapon, understand who built it, and decide what to do with something too dangerous for anyone to own. It’s a mix of investigation, social engineering, and transhuman horror, steeped in Eclipse Phase’s trademark questions about identity, power, and how far you go to stop an existential threat.

Eclipse Phase “Think Before Asking” Chapter 5: Echoes on Fornjot Jul 08, 2020
    Show notes

Strapped into a tiny stealth shuttle with nowhere to go and nothing to do but talk, Vector, Nila, and Maxine finally let their guard down—sharing the ghosts of Mars, lost families, and the reasons they ended up working for Firewall in the first place.

Their confessions end when the scans come in: Fornjot is a tiny, ice-caked moon carved over with Hebrew script, a ring of domes orbiting faith and paranoia…and something has gone very wrong. Guardian drones hang frozen mid-patrol, two small bodies drift dead outside the main airlock, and the habitat’s systems are a chaotic mess of broken security, religious spam, and glitching VR.

Slipping in through an emergency lock, Vector quietly taps into the local mesh, only to find a place where nothing is properly hidden and nothing quite makes sense—half-finished work, scrambled safeguards, and a handful of remaining egos. Among them, a looping simulspace of two figures watching themselves watch themselves hints that whatever happened here isn’t done echoing yet.

Eclipse Phase “Think Before Asking” Chapter 4: Toward Fornjot Jul 05, 2020
    Show notes

Shaken but not broken after Nicotine Eldridge, Vector, Nila, and Maxine regroup in the tangled jungles of Swanskin Domino to pick apart what they’ve learned and where the trail leads next. As they trace the warhead’s strange route through the swarm, a fake engineering union and a reclusive Christian fork-cult on the distant moon Fornjot begin to form an unsettling pattern. Reporting back to their Firewall proxy in VR, they secure transport from a peculiar sentient ship with a very literal mindset—and start planning how to walk into an apocalypse-obsessed sanctuary without announcing they’ve come hunting for a weapon of mass destruction.

Scion “The Valley of the Setting Sun” Chapter 16: Shifting Grounds Jul 03, 2020
    Show notes

In the shadow of the coming Thunderbird migration, Sir Nicholas and Jesse turn the castle into something new: a proving ground. As word spreads through the supernatural community, fighters, scions, and other strange beings gather for an impromptu tournament where the rules are simple—no killing, no knockouts, only surrender.

While Theophania Jones is roped into officiating this “responsibly managed chaos,” Jesse calls on his divine blood to bless the courtyard, turning the arena into a place where the very ground may refuse to stay the same from one bout to the next. With a frost giant challenge promised for the eventual champion and a dangerous fae duel hanging over the proceedings, the stage is set for a night where glory, grudges, and fate all collide under the desert sky.

    About the Chronicle

The Valley of the Setting Sun is a Scion Second Edition chronicle set in modern-day Phoenix, where divine power sleeps just beneath the heat-hazed pavement. The campaign follows a band of Scions as they awaken to their true heritage, receive their Visitations, and step into a world woven with prophecy, danger, and the weight of mythic legacy.

Scion “The Valley of the Setting Sun” Chapter 15: The Knight’s Challenge Jul 01, 2020
    Show notes

In the depths of the Pit, Sir Nicholas and Jesse push past the noise, blood, and neon haze to confront the fae woman who has James wrapped around her little finger. What looks like a toxic relationship from the outside turns out to be something far more binding—and far more dangerous—than a bad college romance. Nick steps into unfamiliar territory, invoking a knightly challenge against a being who plays by very old rules and has no qualms about collateral damage.

As the terms of this challenge begin to take shape, Jesse does what Jesse does best: he turns looming violence into an event. An impromptu supernatural tournament starts to form around Nick’s upcoming duel, complete with strange recruits and the promise of glory. To make the prize worthy of legends, Jesse seeks out his giantess mother and strikes a new bargain of his own—one that ties their little “fight club” to powers older and colder than the Arizona desert.

Scion “The Valley of the Setting Sun” Chapter 14: The Pit Beneath the City Jun 28, 2020
    Show notes

Following a troubling visit from a friend in need, Jesse and Sir Nicholas descend into one of Phoenix’s hidden supernatural hotspots—a place whispered about by those who know where the city’s Veil thins and the strange walk openly. Known only as the Pit, it’s a club built in concrete and shadow, where pounding music, arcane tattoos, and things not meant for daylight gather shoulder-to-shoulder.

Among the lamia, the night-crowd monsters, and the magically marked, the duo searches for a young man who’s fallen under the sway of a dangerous companion—someone whose hold on him may not be entirely mortal. What begins as a favor quickly turns into something thornier, as familiar faces, unsettling resemblances, and hints of deeper entanglements rise from the gloom.

Inside the Pit, nothing is straightforward, and every step forward feels like stepping deeper into someone else’s game.

Delta Green “Third Man Factor” Final Chapter: Shadows in the Rearview Jun 26, 2020
    Show notes

With the miles to Reno dwindling, Agent Michaela Rummanov’s “simple” courier job has turned into a paranoid blur of headlights, black SUVs, and a man in her car who shouldn’t exist. As an unseen enemy closes in on the mysterious cylinder in her trunk, Michaela is forced to balance training, instinct, and the unnerving guidance of Shackleton—the voice that keeps insisting he’s on her side. A tense game of cat-and-mouse on dark back roads leads her to the isolated storage facility where the handoff must be completed, but what waits there will challenge her sense of what’s real, what’s classified, and what she’s willing to remember when the night is finally over.

    About the Chronicle

Third Man Factor is a Delta Green duet scenario featuring Agent Michaela Rummanov (played by Jorine) and Adam as handler. Built around a single, tense overnight drive, it trades shootouts and raids for creeping paranoia, loneliness on the highway, and the unsettling feeling that someone—or something—is along for the ride. As Michaela follows opaque orders, juggles loyalty to her career and her home life, and tries to decide whether to obey or disobey that simple note—“DO NOT OPEN”—the scenario explores classic Delta Green themes: compromised authority, weaponized bureaucracy, and the thin, fraying line between mundane reality and the uncanny.

Vampire: the Masquerade - Twin Cities by Night “Sorrow” Prelude 2: Absolution Jun 24, 2020
    Show notes

In the summer heat of 1987 New York City, four strangers find themselves drawn to a small gothic nightclub called Absolution. For each of them, the night promises something different — escape, release, distraction, or a fix. But what they find within the pulsing music and haze of cigarette smoke is far darker than anything they could imagine.

As the evening unfolds, a mysterious young woman takes to the dance floor, her movements hypnotic and haunting. Her presence seems to pull every eye toward her, every heartbeat syncing to her rhythm. One by one, the strangers feel themselves compelled toward her… and by night’s end, none will be the same.

    About the Chronicle

Sorrow is a tale of loss, depression, and fractured faith — a deeply personal story that returns to the somber roots of Vampire: The Masquerade. It follows a new cast of characters, each haunted by their mortal lives and the price of immortality, as they navigate duty, despair, and the need to belong.

This chronicle continues the interconnected world of Twin Cities by Night, expanding the saga that began with Negligence, Homecoming, Dread, and Ghouls: Fatal Addiction – Servitude. It can be experienced on its own or as part of the full continuity.
