In this video I engage Suan Sonna's typological argument for the papacy in Matthew 16 and Isaiah 22. At 43:57 I meant Matthew 16, not Matthew 18.

People involved in ecumenical study and dialogue between Protestant, Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and other Christian traditions often experience "ecclesial anxiety" -- the worry and dread that comes from the fear of being in the wrong church. In this video I offer a way to arrive upon assurance and peace from a broadly Reformed perspective.

In this video I point out that the concern that typology should not be used to establish doctrine is a historic instinct in the Christian church, not just a contemporary Protestant view.

In this video I introduce the Hussites, the Bohemian Reformers inspired by Jan Hus, drawing from the 15th century Hussite historian Laurence of Brezona. I give an overview of how they were persecuted and then explore the theological reforms they initiated, particularly focusing on their theology of the Eucharist. I conclude with one cautionary lesson for Protestants today.

In this video I do theological triage on continuationism and cessationism, the question of whether miraculous spiritual gifts like speaking in tongues, prophecy, and healing ceased in the past or are for the church today.
