Adoption Reimagined: Bringing Hope to Mothers, Children, & Families w/ Heather Mellott Oct 14, 2025
    Show notes

What if adoption were accessible, affordable, and filled with support on both sides? What if women in crisis were met with real help, not judgment—and hopeful families didn't have to navigate the journey alone? In a culture wrestling with the value of life and the meaning of family, a bold vision is reshaping the conversation. Through the love of Christ, faith, compassion, and action are coming together to make a lasting difference.

My guest today is Heather Mellott, founder and president of Adoption Finder®. Since launching the organization in 2019, Heather has been on a mission to make adoption more accessible and affordable, support women facing unexpected pregnancies, care for foster youth, and save lives from abortion. She believes every life has intrinsic value and purpose and works to help families be built on love, hope, and lasting support.

Life in the Negative World: Confronting Challenges in an Anti-Christian Culture w/ Aaron Renn Oct 07, 2025
    Show notes

Church attendance in America peaked in the mid-20th century, but since then, Christianity has steadily declined in influence. What was once viewed positively—and later tolerated as just one option among many—is now often regarded with suspicion or outright hostility. In today's cultural climate, Christian morality is dismissed and even seen as a threat to the new moral order. Aaron M. Renn traces this 70-year shift in cultural attitudes toward Christianity and offers practical strategies for churches, institutions, and believers.

Listen in as Dr. Jeff and Aaron discuss:

*How Christians can remain faithful in a society that opposes their values

*What opportunities exist for living missionally in the "negative world"

*Lessons from the past that can guide us into the future

Sacred in the Everyday: God's Call in Daily Life w/ Brent Waters Sep 02, 2025
    Show notes

Every day, we do commonplace things & interact with ordinary people without giving them much thought. What we need is a theological guide to thinking Christianly about the ordinary nature of everyday life. Leading ethicist Brent Waters shows that the activities & relationships we think of as mundane are actually expressions of love of neighbor that are vitally important to our well-being. We live out the Christian gospel in the contexts that define us & in the routine chores, practices, activities, & social settings that give ordinary life meaning. It is in those contexts that we discover what we were created for, to be, & to become.

Listen in as Dr. Jeff talks with Brent Waters (DPhil, University of Oxford), who is the Jerre & Mary Joy Stead Professor of Christian Social Ethics at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, where he also directs the Jerre L. & Mary Joy Stead Center for Ethics & Values. He has written, edited, or contributed to many books.

    Show notes

Aaron Atwood and Dr. Jeff Myers sit down to discuss the life and influence of Dr. James Dobson. Dobson was a Christian psychologist, author, and broadcaster best known as the founder of Focus on the Family. Trained as a child development specialist, he served on the faculty of the University of Southern California School of Medicine before launching his media ministry in 1977. Through radio, books, and speaking, Dr. Dobson became one of the most influential voices in evangelical Christianity, especially on marriage, parenting, and family values. He later founded Family Talk in 2010, continuing his mission to strengthen faith and families.

More than this, Dr. Dobson has had a significant impact on the lives of countless Christians, as well as on the trajectory of Summit Ministries. We want to honor a man who fought the good fight of faith and truly championed a biblical worldview.
