In last week's podcast notes, I mentioned that we had been tossing around the idea of switching from a solely TA focussed podcast to a TGN podcast, where we can discuss and debate all of the latest news and games from both Xbox and PlayStation. Thankfully, the feedback was positive, and so this week, we'd like to introduce you to the very first episode of the TGN podcast!

Joining me on this week's show are Ollie and Sam, as we share out thoughts on the newly released Assassin's Creed Odyssey and discuss what could be next for Ubisoft's long-running franchise, discuss the leaked Harry Potter RPG footage, marvel at the latest Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay trailer, and look at what's now available for free in October's Games with Gold and PS Plus offerings. 139: Forza Horizon 4, Telltale Layoffs, Fortnite Cross-Play and More Sep 28, 2018

Welcome to episode 139 of the TrueAchievements podcast. Before we get into what we've covered on this week's show, we'd like to thank all of you that took the time to provide some feedback on the format of the show. The general consensus was that reading out long lists of new achievements and new releases were boring a low point, so we've made some changes this week to only discuss the bigger games and the ones that really interest us.

We've also been swapping around some ideas internally, and one of the suggestions we thought might be worth exploring is switching from a solely TA focussed podcast to a TGN podcast, where we can discuss and debate all of the latest news and games from both Xbox and PlayStation. Of course, that would mean we'd mostly be covering the same things we normally would be as most of the big games are multi-platform, with the odd discussion around some PS4 exclusives thrown in for good measure. If you have any thoughts (both pros and cons) on this idea, please let us know in the comments below. With all that out of the way, let's get back to this week's episode. We're back from another action-packed and hectic trip to Cologne, Germany, where we spent four days at Gamescom in developer sessions and getting hands-on time with some of the biggest games that will be releasing on the Xbox One in the coming months.

We saw so many games, that unlike previous years, we didn't even have a spare hour to record a show whilst we were over there. Unfortunately, that means the annual Gamescom special episode of the TA Podcast is a little later than usual, but hopefully, you'll enjoy listening to our thoughts on what we saw throughout our time at the show.
