Show notes
Day 5 of the Lindsay Clancy murder trial focused on Lindsay Clancy’s own journals, evidence recovered from the family home, and testimony about her physical and psychiatric condition after the deaths of her three children. Jurors heard entries describing anxiety, insomnia, feeling overwhelmed, difficulty bonding with her infant son, and repeated efforts to get help as prosecutors continued building their case that she was criminally responsible.
The jury also heard from police investigators, medical personnel, and hospital psychiatrists who treated Clancy after her suicide attempt. Testimony addressed the collection of medications and toxicology evidence, emergency efforts to save the children, Lindsay’s written communication while intubated, and whether a person experiencing psychosis can still appear coherent, communicate, and make plans. Join True Crime Squad for a complete breakdown of the Day 5 testimony, key cross-examinations, courtroom strategy, and what today’s evidence could mean for the prosecution’s case and the defense claim of postpartum psychosis.
