We sat down with Dr. Norma Elia Cantú on this episode of Sentience, a podcast from Trinity University, to discuss folklore, literature and identity growing up in the borderlands in this third space, or nepantla, as she would call it. Cantú is an esteemed novelist, poet, educator and theorist of Chicana/o literature who drew inspiration for her works from her childhood in Laredo and her travels in Spain. In this episode, we recognize Dr. Cantú not only as a scholar but also as a cultural advocate, storyteller, and mentor, whose multifaceted contributions continue to shape the intellectual landscape of Chicana/o studies.
