E109 - Sizzling Aug 23, 2025

Show notes

E109 - Sizzling - Barber is back from vacation feeling rested and relaxed and sporting one hell of a tan. He starts out the episode by offering some – shall we say, unconventional tips on how to achieve a golden-brown base coat. The guys then turn their attention to two sizzling-hot segments from the band's recent tour stop in Providence, RI. Max uses AI to isolate the individual instruments, highlighting the unique contributions that each of the four Biscuits make to the band's jams.

This episode features excerpts of the following live performance:

Mr Don and Ring The Doorbell Twice, from July 12, 2025 at The Strand Theater, Providence, RI

E107 - Conducting Camp Home Again Aug 14, 2025

Show notes

E107 - Conducting Camp Home Again - Max and Barber spent the afternoon grilling and swimming and then sat down to try to record a podcast. Fortunately, their guest was Matt Butler, all-around mensch and the man behind The Everyone Orchestra. This past June, Matt had the unusual honor of conducting an all-improv set by The Disco Biscuits at Camp Home Again. The jams that set produced marked a turning point in the band's summer tour and unlocked sounds and textures that can be heard across many of their subsequent shows. In addition to breaking down the Camp Home Again jams, Matt reflects upon the influences that shaped his unique approach to improvisation, including his childhood exposure to the Eugene Symphony, his athletic background, and his creative collaborations with the late Ken Kesey.

This episode features excerpts of the following live performance:

Camp Home Again Jams 1 and 3, from June 19, 2025 at Bearsville Theater, Woodstock, NY

It's a Philadelphia Sixer! The Disco Biscuits take over the Ardmore Music Hall from August 19-24 for their first-ever six night residency. For tickets and more info, including the band's full Fall tour itinerary, head over to discobiscuits.com/shows.
