We chatted about what BMW is doing well at the moment and the potential shifts in their design team, how he even got into working with BMW USA and the dealer network he works with in Dallas, his experience on on the BMW X5 25 anniversary shoot and why oh why....did he decide to build a 1000 horsepower Toyota Supra and the heart break that has ensued.

    Hi everyone and welcome back to the last episode live from the Velocity invitational at Sonoma Raceway.


    In part 3, we chat with the head of strategy and rally driver Josie Rimmer of Dirtfish, Sotheby's Motorsport sales specialist Michael Zimmermann and videographer and friend to the pod Derek Jones.


    It is truly a fantastic way to wrap up the weekend in Sonoma, which was full of excitement, passion and enthusiasm. I speak for every guest of the last 3 parts when I say this is one of the premiere automotive events in the world. It will return for its 6th edition in June 2025 once more at Sonoma and I highly recommend to everyone to attend.

    Tormenting Tarmac Episode 113: Live from the Velocity Invitational Part 2 featuring Kali Moldavon, Jack Ultramotive, Gian Paolo Scorzo and Cody Nogowski Oct 08, 2024

    What is going everyone! Welcome back to Sonoma Raceway at the Velocity Invitational for part 2 of our special. In this episode, you will hear from car content creator Kali Moldavon, YouTuber extraordinaire Jack Ultramotive, vintage car expert Gian Paolo Scorzo of Carissimo and one of the best photographers Arizona has to offer, Cody Nogowski.


    They all share their experiences of why to them, the Velocity Invitational is truly one of the top automotive events in the world. Which is not a stretch. It was Jack and Gian Paolo's first time here and Kali and Cody have been here a few times and it's awesome to hear what each of them love about it. This was recorded in the media center which was directly on the front straight at Sonoma which means some of the fly by's get really loud at times. Apologies about that but it also gives a unique feeling as to being boots on the ground.

    Tormenting Tarmac Episode 100: Jack Ultramotive stops by on TT Jul 11, 2024

    Hi everyone and welcome to the 100th installment of Tormenting Tarmac. I cannot believe we are here. This journey started all the way back in January 2022 and if you want to get really technical, it started in September of 2021 when I recorded the first ever episode with Ron. Fast forward to now and I think this podcast is the perfect representation of car culture in the Phoenix area and we have expanded outside of Arizona. This week, we have YouTube sensation Jack Ultramotive on the pod. We discuss Youtube and how it works in the sense of the never ending story, his first car being the Focus RS, where we feel the perfect balanced supercars ended and of course....the greatness that is the Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640. Today we tell the story of one Dylan Wittenauer, a vintage and endurance racer hailing from Mo-Town. Over the episode, he details how he and his family got into racing, what it takes to succeed, his love for a specific British manufacturer as well him and Ron's experiences being on the same team in endurance racing. Can Ron hang with Dylan on track? Jorge is dying to find out. It was an absolute pleasure having Dylan on and we hope to have him on again as he continues with Wittenauer Motorsports chasing more victories nationwide.

    Over the last few months, we have skipped around a little in regards to what Ron does for a living. This week, we break it down. Jorge interviews Ron in an depth way about the life of an automotive engineer at an OEM. As many of you know, Ron works for General Motors and has also worked at another OEM in the past. We go behind the scenes on how Ron got into engineering, what his influences were, whether being exposed to an OEM manufacturer has jaded his love for culture and what he has learned from working with an OEM for his own build as well as what he's learned from his own personal build and how he applies that at the proving grounds. Fascinating stuff and we are incredibly proud to bring it to you.
