The Alberto Knot - Tie it! Test it!! | H2T | Episode #860 Jan 30, 2024

Show notes

Get your FREE Knot Guide here! — tomrowlandpodcast.com/knotguide

Teaching you how to tie the Alberto Knot isn’t enough. I also need to test the knot breaking strength! Without knowing the breaking strength, there is no way to tell if it is better or worse than any other knot. Here, on the Tom Rowland Podcast, we test all out knots! If you want to how the Alberto Knot compares to other knots, get my free Knot Guide at tomrowlandpodcast.com/knotguide.

The Alberto knot is a popular fishing knot used to connect different types of fishing lines, particularly fluorocarbon or monofilament lines to braided lines. It's known for its strength and slim profile, making it suitable for various fishing applications.

The Alberto knot is prized for its low profile, which allows it to pass through rod guides smoothly, reducing the chances of snagging. Additionally, it retains much of the lines' original strength when tied correctly, making it a reliable choice for connecting lines of different materials.

Practice tying the Alberto knot a few times to become proficient, and you'll have a versatile knot in your fishing repertoire!

Fantastic Friday! Zombie Marlin and Monster Pythons! Episode #855 Jan 12, 2024

Show notes

This week on Fantastic Friday, Rob Chapman and I discuss three viral videos related to fishing and wildlife.

The first video shows a group of fishermen reviving a seemingly dead marlin, demonstrating the resilience of the fish. The second video features a marlin without a bill, which raises questions about how it lost its spear-like appendage. The third video showcases a massive, roughly 20-foot python caught in Florida, highlighting the issue of invasive species.

These videos provide insights into the fishing and wildlife world and generate discussions about conservation and species resilience.
