VINCE MCMAHON HAS RETIRED FROM ALL OF HIS ACTIVE WWE RESPONSIBILITIES. And even though the announcement happened after we recorded, Hal and producer Julian still have time to discuss their early reactions.

But other than that, the wrestling world feels like it’s in a bit of a slump at the moment. But while things don’t feel as exciting as they should, let’s find some positives before SummerSlam starts and wrestlers continue fighting sharks or whatever

The Main Event: Larry Steve (and Alexa Bliss)

Alexa Bliss has been back for a few months now. And instead of competing for the world championships, she's working to find her footing and messing around with the 24/7 title in the meantime.

But before we get to her, let's talk about her pet pig who touched the hearts of millions before he left us too soon: Larry Steve.

It’s time to speculate about the end of TV ratings on a brand new Tights and Fights!

Yup, it looks like the WWE is officially going back to TV-14 after decades of PG television. What does that mean for the show itself? Probably none of the things that we suggest.

Sasha Banks is in the news again with her first public appearance at C2E2 since leaving WWE. Why does it matter how much money she’s charging to work with the convention? That’s the best part- it doesn’t!

Plus we’ll talk about why we miss Rhea Ripley, why we can’t wait for Ronda to head out and where Liv Morgan should go next

The Main Event: Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman has been the peak of promos as an advocate, manager and special council for WWE's biggest stars. Now that he's once again caught between his two biggest collaborators in the latest Lesnar/Reigns match, we're going to take a look at Heyman's career and legacy in wrestling so far.

The Three Count

Hal put over Shinsuke Corbin.

Danielle put over Keith Lee’s “why”.

Lindsey put over the G1 tournament announcement.

Hosted by Hal Lublin, Danielle Radford and Lindsey Kelk

Show notes

This week’s show is brought to you in part by Soylent! Go to Soylent.com/tights to and use promo code TIGHTS get 20% OFF your first order.

Money in the Bank brought with it some great matches and moments that we can’t wait to discuss on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

But that’s almost secondary to all the real-life Vince McMahon news that’s been delivered this week. Why is all this coming out now? We’ll speculate and explain why it’s similar to the ousting of a certain Prime Minister.

And not only that, but we’ve gotta talk about Christian’s promo on Matt Hardy, Wardlow’s big title win and so much.

The Main Event: Paige

Paige has had one of the most revolutionary and tumultuous WWE careers in recent memory. Now she's officially run through her last contract and is parting ways with the company. So we're going to look back on everything she accomplished.

The Three Count

Hal put over Paul Heyman’s lecture.

Danielle put over an amazing thread about WWE.

Lindsey put over George Carlin and wrestling.

Can you believe we’re a full six months into the year? We’re finally ready to discuss the halfway point on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

One of the biggest news items from WWE this week is that they signed Logan Paul to a contract to wrestle for the company. Don’t count any of us as Paul supporters, but we’ll explain why he has the carney energy to do good things in WWE.

AEW just had their “Forbidden Door” PPV. And what else could get us more excited than the debut of Claudio Castignoli (formerly known as WWE’s Cesaro).

Between his showcase and AEW wrestlers appearing on RAW to thank John Cena, it’s been a wild and crazy

The Main Event: 2022 so far

We're already halfway through 2022 and have already experienced plenty of highs and lows in the world of wrestling. This week, we're talking all about what's stood out to us in the year so far, from stars, to moments behind the scenes or anything else.

The Three Count

Hal put over John Cena granting wishes.

Danielle put over the wrestling world showering Claudio with love.

Julian put over Montez Ford’s future.

Show notes

This week’s show is brought to you in part by Soylent! Go to Soylent.com/tights to and use promo code TIGHTS get 20% OFF your first order.

It’s the most cursed Summer of wrestling, but let’s try to brave it together on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

Injuries continue to plague both AEW and WWE. Daniel Bryan is out for the foreseeable future and has promised a surprise competitor to replace him in his upcoming matches at “Forbidden Door” and “Blood & Guts.”

Rhea Ripley is not medically cleared to compete at “Money in the Bank.” So Bianca Belair will face Carmella instead.

But there’s thankfully still some things to be happy about and a bold explanation about which pop culture franchises best explain the purpose of AEW.

The Main Event: Vince McMahon

Vincent Kennedy McMahon has been the chief creative and business mind behind WWE for decades. Every single decision and expansion has been made with him at the center of it. With the latest scandal and investigation, he faces what may be the most significant disruption to his power yet.

Full disclosure: the main event segment has been rumored to be cursed the last few weeks, with anyone who we discuss getting disappeared from TV. So we figured why not aim high?

The Three Count

Hal put over Kevin Owens understanding movies.

Danielle put overJohnny Hardy.

Lindsey put over Paul Heyman and Terry Funk video games!

Hosted by Hal Lublin and Danielle Radford.

Produced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun.

Ep. 305: Tea, trauma and tragedy Jun 18, 2022

Show notes

This week’s show is brought to you in part by Soylent! Go to Soylent.com/tights to and use promo code TIGHTS get 20% OFF your first order.

What a massive week of news. And we’ll do our best to sift through it all on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

Vince McMahon has stepped away from WWE, at least on a temporary basis. This comes after a Wall Street Journal report that he paid off a former employee after what the story called “an affair.” As the WWE board looks into whether he used WWE money to cover for his transgressions, Stephanie McMahon has been announced as the interim chairwoman and CEO.

There’s a lot to sift through and the only way we know how is with jokes speculation!

Plus, the hits just keep coming: Jeff Hardy was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. He’s now been suspended from AEW as he seeks rehabilitation. So we make an impassioned plea for him to get the help he needs.

The Main Event: Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley has a new look and a new faction on her side with The Judgment Day. And the group's first order of business is to support Rhea in her match against Bianca Belair so that she can earn her second RAW women's title.

The Three Count

Hal put over Big E’s big accomplishment.

Danielle put over MJF’s celebrity encounter.

Lindsey put over comedy and Wrestling.

Hosted by Hal Lublin, Danielle Radford and Lindsey Kelk.

Produced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun.

Ep. 304: Injury Season Jun 11, 2022

Show notes

There’s so much that’s happened across every wrestling show. We’re happy to guide you along on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

Hell in a Cell was a generally well received PPV, and not just for the banger of a main event. Asuka, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch turned in a great triple threat for the RAW women’s title and all three women have a lot of options in the aftermath.

Somehow Kevin Owens has kept the game with Ezekiel going for months now. How much longer until it’s a wrap?

And all signs point to Jon Moxley standing tall as the AEW Champion for the first time in several years. But will he be able to bring a title prominence that’s in danger of getting lost in a crowded field of belts on AEW?

The Main Event: Injuries

Injuries are a constant part of wrestling. But this past week, we've had a bunch of wrestlers get hurt and disrupt the best laid plans of marks and bookers

The Three Count

Hal put over Danhausen's fun time band.

Julian put over Ms. Marvel/Mustafa fan art.

Lindsey put over Adam Page being brave.

Hosted by Hal Lublin and Lindsey Kelk.

Produced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun.

The music for our new promo is provided by Incompetech.com

Maxwell Jacob Friedman and his contract drama has taken the world by storm. Is it a work? Is it a shoot? Who cares! Let’s just bask in it on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights.

But first: Hal’s finally back! And that means we can catch him up on all the wrestling he’s missed.

AEW had their Double or Nothing PPV where CM Punk at last won the AEW World Championship. What do we hope for as he cements himself as the face of the company and prepares to fight Hiroshi Tanahashi?

Plus, we’ll look ahead to Hell in a Cell and lament that the women don’t get a cell this year. Boooooo!

The Main Event: MJF

Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been one of the most consistent acts on AEW since the brand premiered. Now there's more drama around him and his future in the company than ever before.

The Three Count

Show notes

This week’s show is brought to you in party by Soylent! Go to Soylent.com/tights to and use promo code TIGHTS get 20% OFF your first order.

We’re just a few days away from AEW’s Double or Nothing show, but there are tons of stories developing outside the fictional world of wrestling television too.

Kota Abushi’s troubles with New Japan have only just begun. And the latest press conference did not reflect favorably on the federation.

Roman Reigns is still expected to scale back his presence in WWE for a little while; so what does that mean now that the Bloodline has all the gold?

But all that aside… how about MJF’s Burberry ref shirt?

The Main Event

He's the AEW world champion that the company spent the most time building up and now Hangman Adam Page has a date with CM Punk in the biggest match of his career.

The Three Count

Lindsey put over YOU!

Julian put over Sasha Banks and the Mountain Goats

Danielle put over Jade Cargill’s life.

Ep. 301: Spotlight on the Boss May 21, 2022

Show notes

It’s the 300th episode of Tights and Fights! And we had a chaotic week of wrestling news to celebrate!

Stephanie McMahon has taken a leave of absence from WWE. While she hasn’t been on TV as much these, days her duties behind the scenes are extensive and important. We’ll explain what a big loss this is… and even speculate a little about what this could mean for the company.

But there’s a lot of things to celebrate from the regular TV shows too like the amazing fun that is Kevin Owens and Ezekiel, some fun stunt casting on AEW and Toxic Attraction having fun on TikTok..

The Main Event

Sasha Banks has been a fixture of WWE's women's for years now. She was part of the first crop of women call-ups from NXT as the company signaled it would focus on the division more. And from wigs, weaves, championships and everything in between, she's become one of the biggest stars in WWE… including when she makes headlines.

The Three Count

Lindsey put over Kota Ibushi (the birthday boy).

Julian put over Roman Reigns on AEW

Danielle put over BaddieHausen

Hosted by Danielle Radford and Lindsey Kelk.

Produced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun.

The music for our new promo is provided by Incompetech.com
