It started strong, but ended as a total disaster. We talk wasted potential, missed opportunities, and whether we’ll ever cover season 2.

Aronofsky’s obsession with real-world consequences of violence
The soundtrack (Clash, Idles, 90s needle drops)

Scene-stealing turns from Bad Bunny and the Russian mobsters
Why this might be Aronofsky’s weirdest mainstream film yet

Alien: Earth Episode 4 Recap & Breakdown + Starfighter Casting News Sep 01, 2025

Show notes

We’re calling it: Alien: Earth Episode 4 is the strongest yet. Creepy doll heads, Wendy’s wild brain-trip, and a swimmer xenomorph that might be island-bound — we’ve got theories, breakdowns, and a whole lot of yelling.

PLUS in this episode: — Emma Stone in Begonia looks amazing — Guillermo del Toro drops a Frankenstein trailer — We survived The Roses (barely) — Amy Adams joins Starfighter — but do we really need more Mando babysitting? — Taylor + Kelce: sure, why not

It’s recaps, rants, and pop-culture chaos — just how we like it.

Pit Stains, Panic Orders & Pastry Porn Aug 30, 2025

Show notes

This one’s for the P-Hounds only — and wow, do we get feral.

JD retells the legend of a friend who ate 36 Krispy Kremes in a single day — a tale of gluttony, shame, and heroic replenishment runs.
We spiral into Donut Daddy mukbang hell (yes, he sticks his fingers in them).
Rachel relives flight trauma with a sweaty cigar-stained kilt man and a bag-bin bandit who deserved the death penalty.
Plus: panic-ordering salads at LaGuardia, pit stain reveals, and an AMA that somehow turns into a Coen Brothers bus-driver mobster pitch.

It’s chaos. It’s gross. It’s oddly arousing (don’t ask). It’s Thumb War at its most unhinged.

If you’re reading this and you’re not a Patron? You’re missing the donut dump of the century.

Honey Don’t (2025) Spoiler Review | A Total Disaster from Ethan Coen & Tricia Cooke Aug 28, 2025

Show notes

We just watched Honey Don’t — twice — and still can’t believe how bad it was. Directed by Ethan Coen and co-written with Tricia Cooke, the film stars Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Evans, and Charlie Day in what should have been a stylish neo-noir. Instead, it’s a messy, over-sexed, and painfully misguided movie that left us frustrated, confused, and honestly kind of angry.

In this episode of Thumb War, we break down exactly why Honey Don’t doesn’t work — from the awkward sex scenes, one-note characters, and forced political gags, to the wasted performances of a stellar cast. We also compare it to Drive-Away Dolls, Bound, and even classic Coen Brothers films like Fargo and No Country for Old Men to highlight just how far this one misses the mark.

Spoilers throughout.

We also talk representation, Ethan & Joel Coen’s split, and why this film feels like a wasted “blank check” project.
