UM has not started this 2021 season the way they had hoped, but the ACC goals, in terms of winning the Coastal Division, is still in front of them.

Diaz started the press conference by firing back at ESPN’s discussion on College GameDay that UM doesn’t care about football and the narrative that UM lacks the resources to be great at football.

Instant Reaction: Freshmen step up against CCSU Sep 26, 2021

The Miami Hurricanes cruised to a comfortable 69-0 win over FCS opponent Central Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon.

CCSU was certainly an overmatched opponent, but there was plenty to take away from the game.

The main takeaway? The freshmen had an opportunity to show what they can do and they made plays.

Freshman quarterbacks Tyler Van Dyke and Jake Garcia were both steady with distributing the ball.

All three of UM’s freshman receivers generated impressive touchdowns.

Safety James Williams made his first start and earned UM’s only turnover.
