How To Be Really Happy On Our Own Terms With Taylor Proctor Jul 24, 2020
    Show notes

With everything that is currently happening in the world, it can be difficult, and even at times, leaves a bad taste, to be happy. Nevertheless, it is still very important to understand that it is okay to be happy, especially during this time where we need more reasons to be one. In this episode, Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen bring over a guest to share how we can make sense of finding happiness in these troubled times. They sit down with Taylor Proctor—a transformational happiness mentor, happiness podcaster, and speaker—who provides counterintuitive approaches to success. Together they talk about the societal checklist that often dictates what makes us happy and how we can find happiness on our own terms instead. They also discuss acceptance, increasing confidence, vulnerability, and manifestation, tapping into how we can recalibrate ourselves to enjoy the journey and not be so myopically fixated on the goal. Plus, Taylor, Jason, and Whitney also talk about creating a happiness habit, having a vision board, being a multi-passionate entrepreneur, and more. Tune into this conversation to get reminded that happiness, at the end of the day, is having the security in who you are.

Rejection, Ghosting And The Culture Of Avoidance Jul 22, 2020
    Show notes

Have you been ghosted, or are you guilty of ghosting people yourself? If you’ve experienced either or both, this conversation is definitely for you. Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen dig deep into their knowledge and personal experiences to give their two cents on ghosting, whether in a romantic or non-romantic context. Starting with the seemingly innocuous topic of what the inside of an eggplant should look like, their conversation quickly snowballs into a full-scale indictment of this very inappropriate and hurtful way to say “no.” We all have to deal with rejection at some time in our lives, but being left out in the cold is not a very helpful way to experience it. Stay tuned for snippets about dating apps, how to get over someone, finding unconditional love, and more.

Going With The Flow: Making A Pivot When Life Doesn’t Go Your Way Jul 17, 2020
    Show notes

Life seldom goes our way, especially now that we’re in Mercury retrograde. Whenever we try to impose our will on it, it quickly shows us how illusory our beliefs of control and certainty are. In these times, it is very appropriate to learn how to pivot our plans, go with the flow, and change things at the moment. These are just some of the things Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen talk about in this Friday episode. In a very tangential yet highly enlightening conversation, they talk about many things, including some of their guests in past episodes like Adam Yasmin and Paul Jarvis, and their horrifying experiences in water sliding and skydiving. Also of interest are their conversations on whether anxiety can make you itch, how to manifest someone to contact you in the middle of Mercury retrograde, and the amazing products at Living Libations.

The Dark Side Of Hustle Culture, Woke Capitalism & Social Media Influence Jul 08, 2020
    Show notes

We live in a society that glorifies ambition too much that we even created the term’ hustle culture’ to mask the toxic capitalistic, corporate-driven mentality that has become deleterious, demeaning, and devoid of humanity. As a result, we have become so accustomed to working day and night, leaving us more exhausted and burned-out than empowered—as what the capitalist advertisement wants us to believe. In this episode, Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen reveal the dark side of hustle culture, woke capitalism, and social media influence. They tap into the ways language is being leveraged in the capitalistic space, particularly on how corporations capitalize on the social movements to achieve their ends. Talking about the Millennial woman, they discuss the appeal of the world’ Girlboss’ and the unseen destructive effects it creates on women as they drive themselves to self-destructive work habits. On the big role of social media influence, Jason and Whitney then speak about the problems that come from comparing successes, statuses, and prestige. Listen in on this conversation that can help you reexamine the kind of work culture we are in and think about how you can take care of yourself better amidst it all.
