Taking Charge Of Your Relationship To Food And Wellness With Food Babe, Vani Hari Dec 11, 2020
    Show notes

So many things seem to be out of our control, especially this 2020, but our health shouldn’t be one of them. In this episode, none other than the Food Babe herself, Vani Hari, enjoins us to reevaluate our relationship with food and wellness and take positive action to achieve a healthy, happy life. Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen also talk to Vani about what has been happening in her life since the pandemic started. Having to deal with a new baby, a new cookbook and a massive shift in the industry all at the same time, Vani somehow found a way to get through it all with grace. This conversation humanizes one of the most influential people in the wellness industry – a moment of vulnerability that we can all take inspiration from in each of our own health journeys.

Measuring "Better": Does Practice Make Perfect? Dec 09, 2020
    Show notes

We have been told all our lives to strive to become better, but what exactly is “better”? Is it something definite, measurable and attainable? We have been brought up to think of it as a goal, as an end point that we need to somehow achieve to be of any worth. And when we feel like we’re failing to do so, that’s when shame comes in big time. Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen tackle this uncomfortable topic in this extremely vulnerable conversation and tie it up with their ongoing discussion of America’s capitalistic hustle culture that misleadingly celebrates hard work as the way to success. They wrap up the episode by going back to the importance of gratitude, of knowing that you are already enough for who you are and what you have. Join in and take part in this uncomfortable, but necessary conversation.

In what ways does marketing make us overextend ourselves? What does it say about capitalism? They answer these and more as they share with us some of their own experiences and what they have observed these days and the previous Black Friday sale.

How To Reinvent Your Online Identity With Corbett Barr Dec 04, 2020
    Show notes

The huge role of social media in today's digital world is undeniable. Nevertheless, it can adversely affect our online identity if we allow it to control us instead of the other way around. This may fuel our ego, push us to the brink of depression, make us addicted to going viral, and give us a false sense of presentation. Corbett Barr of The Fizzle Show discusses how to avoid falling to the firm grasp of the online community by sharing his decision to delete all of his social media. Together with Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen, he explains why aiming to get viral posts is not enough to become successful, why we should not be skeptical of minimalism, and how we can take care of the real, authentic identity we have outside of our screens.

What’s Wrong With Giving Up On Your Dreams And Being Average? Dec 02, 2020
    Show notes

When the world tells you to keep pushing towards making your dreams come true, giving up can be difficult, most especially if you felt that that very dream does not serve you anymore. How do you know whether to keep going for it? Is it okay to be average and give up on your dreams? Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen tackle this uncomfortable dilemma that many of us face. They dive deeper into the systems that make it seem wrong to become average, the capitalistic mentality around it, societal conditioning, and the subconscious belief systems. Through it all, Jason and Whitney remind you that it is okay to be where you currently are now, even if that means giving up on your dreams. As Terry Crews once said, “Sometimes your greatest dreams must be destroyed to make way for something better.”

    Show notes

Life is full of contradictions in how we’re taught to live it by working hard and always striving. Yet, in order to keep ourselves sane and happy, we need to also learn how to step away from those. He taps into that line many of us are tip-toeing in between working to live and living to work, where we re-engage the things that used to bring us joy and fulfillment. Join Jason and Whitney as they remind us how it’s okay to take a break sometimes.

This is called “interrupting the model” and this is the topic that Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen take a deep dive on with Inspired Forward life coach, Colleen Mitchell. This is where interrupting the model enters the scene and it applies to everything from business to health and fitness goals. Untethering From Whiteness And Honing Creativity with Kate Faust Nov 20, 2020
    Show notes

In this world ruled by the powerful few, white supremacy is probably the hardest ideology to shake off since its roots are deeply embedded in socialism, capitalism, colonialism, and patriarchy. It acts as if a shackle that forbids us to fly, and untethering from whiteness is definitely a great leap in achieving our full creative potential. However, this can be truly challenging because of society's firm grasp on such a concept. Discussing this topic with Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen is singer and intuitive medium Kate Faust. Together, they unravel the secrets of embracing the multi-dimensional side of ourselves by looking back on the most challenging part of Kate's life. They also discuss why taking a break cannot have a single design applicable to everyone, the familiar things they cling to the most, and why people who dabble in the arts can still be considered essential workers.
