You Can Eat Pizza Undergroud in Salt Lake? Sep 23, 2026

In this episode, we head underground to talk about the original location of The Pie in Salt Lake City. Tucked away near the University of Utah, this place has been serving up pizza in one of the most unique settings in the state for decades.

We talk about the drawings and signatures covering the brick walls, the dark basement atmosphere, the cool vibe, and everything that makes the OG Pie feel like so much more than just another pizza place. It’s weird, unmistakably Salt Lake, and exactly the kind of place we love talking about.

The People Asked, We Answered: Ranking Lagoon’s Ride Signs Sep 16, 2026
    Show notes

Love the show? Hate the show? Think it’s just okay? Send us a text!

In this episode, Matt takes us through a PowerPoint of our compiled rankings of the Lagoon ride signs. From iconic designs that perfectly fit their attractions to signs that leave us wondering what happened, we work our way through Lagoon and decide which ride entrance deserves the top spot.

Some signs have us completely in agreement, while others reveal just how differently we apparently see things. Along the way, we defend our rankings, question each other’s taste, and laugh at some of the choices that somehow made it way higher or lower than expected.

    We're Going On a Ride! Sep 09, 2026

    We’ve made a terrible decision.

In this episode, we commit to riding 50 miles along the Jordan River Parkway. Why? For content.

We talk through the plan, what a 50-mile ride actually looks like, and how unprepared we will purposefully be.

The commitment has officially been made. Now we actually have to do it.

Salt Lake City Used to Have a Hard Rock Cafe? Is That Allowed? Sep 02, 2026
    Show notes

The Hard Rock Cafe was once a piece of downtown Salt Lake City. How much do we actually remember about it? The answer... not much.

This week, we’re joined by our friend Matt as we dig into the surprisingly elusive history of the Hard Rock Cafe in SLC. We talk about the limited information we could find, wonder whether the restaurant featured any Utah-specific memorabilia, and try to figure out why it eventually closed its doors.

Then we remember Google Earth exists and we go back in time to attempt to answer one very important question: WHERE WAS IT?!

It’s part history, part speculation, and part amateur satellite-image investigation as we try to piece together the story of one of Salt Lake City’s forgotten downtown restaurants.

We Float the Provo River (So You Don’t Have To) Aug 26, 2026
    Show notes

Love the show? Hate the show? Think it’s just okay? Send us a text!

Well, only one of us was brave enough to take on the Provo River. Thankful Nate lived to tell the tale. He shares his story about the first time he accidentally floated the river and the time he did it purposefully.

Nate takes us through his experience and whether it’s actually worth adding to your Utah bucket list. Along the way, we also get distracted by the important stuff like Nate’s sunscreen of choice, which apparently makes him look like a ghost .

If you’ve ever thought about grabbing a tube and floating one of Utah’s most popular stretches of river, this episode is for you. And if you haven’t… Nate might convince you. Or talk you out of it. We’ll see.

Does Everything in Utah Depend on Sacrifices to the 9th & 9th Whale? Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

Love the show? Hate the show? Think it’s just okay? Send us a text!

What happens when a giant whale appears in the middle of a Salt Lake City neighborhood? It becomes a landmark, a meme, a gathering place and the center of its own religion.

This week, we’re diving into Out of the Blue, the massive whale sculpture that has become an icon of Salt Lake City’s 9th & 9th neighborhood. We talk about the origins of the whale, the infamous Whale Church, people running laps around their beloved icon, and the strange culture that’s developed around it.

But first, it’s National Potato Day, so naturally we have some very important potato-related business to address.

Praise be to the Bluey… can we call it that?
