Keanu. Nov 23, 2017

Show notes

This week, we're all up and under the one and only Keanu Reeves: owner of the most emotive hair in the business, long-legged wearer of excellent suits, and formative crush. Join us as we explore the beginnings of our thirst expertise, how we first discovered Keanu, and why he remains forever in our hearts. In this week's Thirst Sommelier, we help a listener who needs more Kelvin Yu in their life, and our Fanfic Wars will wage a battle against your hearts.

Do you need help figuring out your next crush? Drop us a line! Leave us a message at (765) 8-THIRST (765-884-4778) with your name and what kind of crush advice you're looking for, and maybe we'll answer your question in an upcoming Thirst Sommelier.

The Great British Bae Off Nov 16, 2017

Show notes

Having previously shown love to Nichole’s southern roots, we now skip across the pond to shine the spotlight on some of Bim’s British countrymen. We talk to writer Bridget Minamore about everything from roadmen to posh geeks, and ponder why Americans love a British accent. Plus, Bridget reads a naughty poem about Charlie Cox that might just put this week’s Fanfic Wars to shame...

(We cannot be responsible for any texts you send after listening. Things get hot enough to bake a scone or two.)

We are loving your drabbles, so keep sending ‘em!

John Cho For President Nov 09, 2017

Show notes

This week’s hottie rarely takes off his shirt but when he does, boy, does he. If you didn't know, John Cho can get it any time, any place, any how he wants it. Our fantasies starring John Cho encapsulate all manner of activities: going to the post office to get stamps, say, or making a hearty soup on a wintry November night. We bet you can have stimulating conversations with John Cho, about like, what the cancellation of Selfie meant for diversity onscreen, or the political fallout from the Paradise Papers. Let's have a debate in the marketplace of ideas (or wherever else you want), John!

In this episode, we'll examine his career range — from guest spots on shows like How I Met Your Mother to starring as Sulu in Star Trek — and his strong, sexy hands (seen in Harold & Kumar, New Girl, Flashforward,...we could go on). We also introduce a new segment called Thirst Sommelier, and of course, write up some steamy fanfic...

Pow! Bam! Thirst! Nov 04, 2017

Show notes

Special guest Krutika Mallikarjuna, features editor at TV Guide, joins us to lust after superheroes and comic book baes. We also talk about our experiences at this year's New York Comic Con, where we talked to fans and artists about cosplay, first crushes, and how to draw sexy. Also in this episode: SUPERHERO SEX.

Thanks to everyone who spoke to us at the Comic Con Artist Alley, including Amy Reeder, Tee Franklin, Kieron Gillen, Fabrice Sapolsky, Gail Simone, Brian Stelfreeze, and Juan Ferreyra. We didn't meet Kevin Wada at Comic Con but we lust after his art a bunch in this episode. Find their work and more on our Tumblr.

Southern Baes Nov 02, 2017

Show notes

Bim and Nichole examine the charms of Southern men. With a little help from Nichole’s friend Cynthia Harris, they jumpstart the conversation looking at the very juicy André 3000 before sifting through portrayals of the South in film and TV. Plus: a battle for fanfiction supremacy in Fanfic Wars—vote early and vote often for your favorite.

Coming Soon: Thirst Aid Kit Oct 19, 2017

Show notes

Lust is a feeling. Thirst is the performance of that feeling. Thirst Aid Kit is a podcast about the public ways women express their desire, particularly in this moment when we are all asking more pointed questions about Hollywood, representation, and opportunities.

Hosted by cultural critics Bim Adewunmi and Nichole Perkins, Thirst Aid Kit explores why we desire who we desire through conversation, original fanfic, and fantasies that take us by surprise...like a lion would a gazelle.

The first episode drops on thirst-day, Nov. 2nd.
