Episode 121 - Playing Guess That Zelda Location! Aug 09, 2020

Show notes

Guess That Zelda Character is back, but there's a twist! There are only so many characters in the Zelda universe, but the locations are seemingly endless. So this time, we had to guess the Zelda location in so many questions. I say "so many" because we started off with 16 questions, and it proved to be a bit difficult for us... at least at first! So come hear us get into each other's heads and play along! Try and see if you can guess what Zelda locations each of us are thinking about for yourself!

Episode 120 - Talking Food With the Authors of The Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook Aug 03, 2020

Show notes

Warning: this episode will make you hungry. This week, we have some special guests join us for a talk all about food, Zelda, and recipes! We sat down with Aime and Walter Woods and chatted about their new cookbook, The Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook! How did it come to be? How was Nintendo in this process? What inspired them to make this? What was the reaction when they surpassed their Kickstarter goal by almost 30-fold? How did they make a recipe for Dubious Food and make it taste good?! And most importantly, there's how many recipes from Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland!?

All this, plus hear Alasyn's count of getting her copy and cooking her first item: buttered apples! (Note: the feature image this week is legit from Alasyn's kitchen!)

Come join the fun, and if you're interested in checking out the book, cruise on over to their website and see the different versions of The Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook available. Plus, come and hang out in their Discord!

Episode 118 - Ask Us Anything About Zelda and Breath of the Wild 2 Jul 20, 2020

Show notes

Another week, another episode where we know not a single thing more about Breath of the Wild 2 than we did last year. That's okay though, since we did what we do best here on the Champions' Cast: speculate! This week, we asked everyone to head over to Facebook and ask a Zelda question to get a Zelda answer, and you delivered big time!

We had tons of questions to answer, including what would we undo in the Zelda series, what new mechanics Breath of the Wild 2 could introduce, what Zelda game do we think is overrated, do we think we'll ever see the Picori again, how important is lore in a Zelda game to us, and what franchise we think Nintendo values more, Mario or Zelda?

These are just some of the great question, so come hang out with us and have some laughs!

Episode 117 - Remembering Our Favorite Stealth Segments in the Zelda Series Jul 13, 2020

Show notes

Metal Gear!? To hear those words uttered in a Zelda game would give me no end of joy, but then, I'm a big fan of stealthy games and Tactical Espionage Action. But after kicking around the idea, I realized that Zelda has a plethora of stealthy sections spread out in the series for us to dissect and discuss. Come hang with us as we talk Gerudo Valley, Silent Realms, the Yiga Clan Hideout, the Forsaken Fortress, and more as we offer our two cents of most of the stealth segments currently available in Zelda.

Plus, weigh in on a side bar we found ourselves discussing on the show - is Master Kohga is major letdown of a character? What do you think?

All this and more, PLUS, head over to this post right here and ask us a question for net week's show! You can only ask questions on Facebook, so make sure to give us a like and drop a Q in the comments!

Episode 116 - Discussing the Best (and Worst!) Intro Dungeons in the Series Jul 05, 2020

Show notes

The Intro Dungeon: a games first dungeon that acts both as a tutorial as to how the rest of the game plays, and as a standalone experience. That's our definition anyways, so with that in mind, the gang discuss the 5 best intro dungeons in the series and give some honorable mentions to strong opening "areas". We also shoot on the worst intro sections (no points for guessing mine) and what made them so lackluster.

Come have fun as Corey returns to the show by popular demand!

We recently undertook a mammoth task here at the site and polled 30 different staff members to gauge their favorite dungeons in the Zelda series. We finally revealed all 50 dungeons on that list, and the gang are here to give you their thoughts on the placements and what dungeons were the biggest snubs.

This is a long one, so strap in, and make sure to check out the Top 50 Dungeons article in it's entirety here!
