Interview With Emily Balcetis Sep 29, 2021
    Show notes

Emily Balcetis is an Associate Professor of Psychology at New York University. She is interested in the conscious and nonconscious ways people fundamentally orient to the world. In particular, she focuses on how the motivations, emotions, needs, and goals people hold impact the basic ways people perceive, interpret, and ultimately react to information around them.

She advocates for an interactive cognitive system where psychological states constrain the basic manner in which we perceive and react to our worlds. Her work, then, explores motivational biases in visual and social perception and the consequential effects for behavior and navigation of the social world. In doing so, her research represents an intersection among social psychology, judgment and decision-making, social cognition, and perception.

Interview With Mae Deevy - Healing Sep 20, 2021
    Show notes

Mae returns to the show to discuss healing.

Mae Deevy is a Certified Hypnotherapist, Aromatherapist and Integrative Life Coach who seeks to dig out the truth behind the old stories and limiting beliefs we tell ourselves versus what can be made possible through intentional, subconscious work. She aims for essential oils to be re-normalized and insists that they have a place in every home, especially a place along side hypnosis. She strongly encourages her clients to integrate their self-hypnosis practice and healing journey with the power of Young Living essential oils. Aligning these two forces of nature allows ourselves to relax, go deeper, and achieve our desired results faster and for longer.

The truth is hypnosis isn’t what we’ve been led to believe. It’s not mind control or a truth serum and it’s certainly not “sleep.” So what is it exactly? Mae has a light-hearted, fun and spirited approach to sharing stories that just may make you wonder: What story am I telling myself today? And what story would I like to live instead?

Mae has her own podcast entitled Stories from the Subconscious and you can find out more about her at www.maedeevy.com
