The Great Monkey Escape Feb 16, 2022

Before the Wolf can get into the stories, the Shepherd brings up classic movies which you have never sat down and watched all the way through.

Starting off, the original story dealt with 100 monkeys escaping from a truck crash on a Pennsylvania. 4 of the monkeys ran away. Somehow this leads us to Oregon getting rid of math in schools and the Shepherd thinks it was no accident, rather it was organized crime.

Out of the 4 monkeys, two were found the same night, perhaps from hanging out in a bar. We discover there is such a thing as “The Strategic Monkey Reserve” similar to Canada’s strategic maple syrup reserve, and how we would run the reserve. Later we discover the story doesn’t have a happy ending.

Larry Dale Carpenter is running for Tarrant County Commissioner Precinct 4.

Larry Dale Carpenter, Jr was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, to Larry Carpenter and Debbie Owings. He is the grandson of former county sheriff Don Carpenter. He is a product of Boswell High School in the Eagle Mountain School District of Fort Worth. Larry continued his education studying journalism at Tarleton State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Communications in 2010.

Larry has traveled abroad extensively to help serve communities across the globe. Larry’s passion for helping took him to Christchurch, New Zealand, following the catastrophic earthquake that hit the region in 2011, where he aided in the reconstruction efforts to rebuild the community. He then worked abroad teaching English for three years. Working in foreign countries helped further cultivate his appreciation for the freedoms that the United States Constitution provides to all Americans.

Not long after that experience, Larry moved back to Tarrant County to help serve the community of his upbringing. Larry is an active member of the Mercy Culture Church, National Rifle Association, and the Petroleum Club of Ft Worth.

Mayor Armin Mizani Feb 02, 2022

Armin Mizani, the mayor of the city of Keller, Texas, has a passion for serving his community. Armin served as a Keller City Councilman from 2014 to 2018, and in 2020 was elected to serve as Mayor. Armin has been recognized as “Best Local Government Official” by Keller voters and readers of the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Armin’s work in the community led to an appointment by Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, to serve on the Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority. In that capacity, Armin works with law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Texas to combat the multi-billion dollar enterprise that is auto theft and crime.

Armin has focused on providing an energetic, principled, and idea-driven leadership style to Keller Town Hall. As Councilman, Armin Mizani heard from many taxpayers who felt that their property taxes was pricing them out of their own home. As a result, Armin introduced and fought for the first ever increase to the Keller Homestead Exemption in over 30 years. Because of Armin’s efforts, today the exemption provides tax relief to Keller taxpayers by reducing the taxable valuation of their home by 14%. In addition, Armin championed and authored Keller’s revision to the Ethics Policy. The revision requires councilmembers, commissioners, and city staff to disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from participating in any votes. The policy also encourages citizens to participate in the process by providing a mechanism in which they can hold their elected leaders accountable.

Armin is an attorney and business owner whose law practice has been recognized by national and statewide organizations. In addition, Armin’s law practice instituted a “Teacher of the Month” program where one teacher is recognized each and every month for their positive impact on our kids and community. Armin and his wife Kathy are proud parents of 2 kids, Aiden and Kendall. They practice their Christian faith at Good Shepherd Catholic Community and are proud to call Keller home!

A dynamic, once-retired business professional looks to the sexual wellness space for his encore career. Muay Thai With Kevin "The Soul Assassin" Ross Nov 03, 2021

Kevin "The Soul Assassin" Ross is an American retired Muay Thai fighter and former professional mixed martial artist. He is also a former Bellator Kickboxing Featherweight champion. He held the Super light weight WBC International championship Title, the Welterweight WBC USA National championship Title, the FIDAM Welterweight championship of Mexico and the United States Muay Thai Federation Welterweight champion.

He currently trains out of The Boxing Club in San Diego, California.

Kevin was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and spent much of his youth moving all around the country until finally ending up in Las Vegas in 1995. Alcoholism and partying completely took over his life until one day he finally decided to face all his fears, turn his life around and go after his lifelong dream of becoming a fighter.

He started training Muay Thai January, 2003 at Master Toddy’s. Kevin has trained in Thailand numerous times at camps including Sitkuanim, Sasiprapa (in 2007 when he competed at the king’s birthday celebration), Sitsongpeenong (in 2010 when he took part in the Toyota Cup 8-man tournament which he made it to the semi-finals), Sitmonchai (which he has been to 3 times to date) and most recently at Sutai in Phuket.

Spio was raised in Ghana. She had her secondary school education at Holy Child High School in Cape Coast. At the age of 16 years she moved to stay in Syracuse, New York in US. Jim JW Northrup has spent much of his life studying the human mind and spirit.

His studies have always been based upon observation rather than on authorities and opinion. His youth was spent playing sports and in the outdoors – much of it with his father – wandering through the beauty of the high mountains, feeling the tranquility of the outdoors and the sense of adventure that comes therein, only to return to the dissonance and conflicts, the rules and regulations of modern civilization. And he believes because of that, he developed a rather exterior view of life.
He began writing in the mid 80’s. Back then he was literally writing as a professional calligrapher. As a result, his works adorn many a wall with a favorite saying or poem.
He then became skilled at the art of 3D modeling in the field of mechanical design for engineers – which was rather ironic as his purpose was not the technical expertise and accuracy they required, but rather, whether or not the models he created were beautiful – which is the artist in him. He got away with it because his models WERE beautiful and because he grudgingly spent the required time to add the technical details that satisfied the requirements of the anal mind of an engineer.
Knowing that his real purposes were somewhat deviant in the field of engineering, he began writing as an outlet for his creativity and his desire to communicate what he had learned in the field of the mind and the spirit and because his life would never be believed unless it was written down on paper.

Discussing the amazing story of Charlie "Waterboo" Oman, the Shepherd is joined by filmmaker Jeremy Klapprodt and nephew of Charlie, Nathan Hartman.

Charlie Oman was born and raised on a farm in Vanlue, Ohio. He was a handsome young man who enjoyed life and loved to have a good time. Shortly after graduating high school, Charlie enlisted in the Marines and was sent off to the Vietnam War. This is where he was given the nickname “Waterboo” because he was as big and strong as a water buffalo. On April 21, 1967, Charlie’s life was changed forever when he sustained a gunshot wound to the head from hostile fire that left him nearly dead. He laid there in the rice paddy for 18 hours before he was discovered and quickly shipped off for treatment at the station hospital. He was then medically air evacuated to the United States and assigned to the Naval Hospital in Illinois, where he began his slow and difficult recovery.

The condition Charlie was in when his family and friends first visited him was unimaginable. He was barely recognizable and couldn’t even talk. The back right side of his head was gone leaving the left half of his body numb and with little motion. Life as he knew it started over as he had to relearn how to complete even the simplest of tasks. He adjusted over the years and lead a life of the greatest quality. Charlie spent much of his time on the road and was always surrounded by family and friends that have all become family. Some of Charlie’s hobbies were hunting, fishing, billiards and cooking. Most people will tell you he was very good at all of them, too.

Charlie “Waterboo” Oman passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. He will always be an inspiration to so many and has driven Jeremy Klapprodt to explore himself, as well as the world around him. Waterboo is a documentary film that explores the incredible determination needed to overcome some of the greatest obstacles imaginable and recognizes the most important traits an individual can possess. Filmmaker Jeremy Klapprodt does this by revealing the story of Charlie Oman through the use of interviews, photographs, old film reels, and video footage shot over the years while traveling with him.

Jeremy Klapprodt grew up and still resides in North Texas. Even at a young age he was always interested and experimenting with photography and filmmaking. After high school he spent the next 4 years studying film at the University of North Texas and graduated in 2000 with a degree in Radio, Television, and Film. Jeremy immediately started a small video production company after school and successfully ran the operation for 3 years. In 2004, he accepted a position in the family business and the video production company was shut down. Although in a completely different field of work now, Jeremy still pursues his passion for photography and filmmaking.

Mary Kelleher ranches along the Trinity River with her husband - and about 100 head of cattle, pigs, goats, chickens, geese and the odd llama, turkey and peacock. In September of 2010, the Trinity River rose suddenly, flooding a large chunk of their ranch. Damage was horrendous... livestock drowned and farm equipment was destroyed. Worse yet, the cause was an unannounced release of water upstream and the water on her property didn't recede for months!

In trying to find out what happened and how to prevent it from happening again, Mary discovered that the Tarrant Regional Water District wasn't as focused as they should be on their mission of flood control and water supply. In 2013, she ran for TRWD Board to push for changes. She served four years as a TRWD Director - bringing transparency, accountability and sunshine!

Fast forward to now... Mary's ready to serve the public again! The economic development project known as Panther Island has not only diverted the Board's attention, it's become a true money pit with an ever-expanding budget and lengthening timeline.

What is the TRWD anyway? TRWD stands for Tarrant Regional Water District... and that's the source of water for cities in the area. So that's one responsibility of TRWD: water supply. The other major TRWD responsibility is flood control. You may have seen photos of the historic Fort Worth flood in May 1949. After that, levees were built and Fort Worth has not seen a repeat of the Trinity River flooding the city.

Armin Mizani, the mayor of the city of Keller, Texas, has a passion for serving his community. Armin served as a Keller City Councilman from 2014 to 2018, and in 2020 was elected to serve as Mayor. Armin has been recognized as “Best Local Government Official” by Keller voters and readers of the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Armin’s work in the community led to an appointment by Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, to serve on the Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority. The revision requires councilmembers, commissioners, and city staff to disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from participating in any votes. The policy also encourages citizens to participate in the process by providing a mechanism in which they can hold their elected leaders accountable.

Armin is an attorney and business owner whose law practice has been recognized by national and statewide organizations. In addition, Armin’s law practice instituted a “Teacher of the Month” program where one teacher is recognized each and every month for their positive impact on our kids and community. He became obsessed with motorcycles at an early age, taking a six hundred mile cross-country tour to Cornwall as soon as he bought a moped at the tender age of sixteen and after working as a London dispatch rider, He built my first chopper in my bedroom at university, undeterred by the fact that my workshop was upstairs.

Armed with a MBA degree, he worked in insolvency and business restructuring in the UK and Africa which inspired his first novel The Liquidator a conspiracy thriller set in East Africa. Whatever you do, don’t take it on holiday as your safari reading!

This was then followed by his ‘Biker Lit’ series of the Brethren outlaw motorcycle club crime thrillers, set amongst UK outlaw bikers which is currently in TV development.

Today he lives off the grid, high up on the North Pennines in Northumberland, UK with his wife, dogs, and a garage full of motorcycle restoration projects and I’m working on a number of book projects.
