Modern Day Moonshine Part Two – Born to Bootleg
In the second installment of a two-part series on
modern day moonshining and South Carolina's moonshine culture, we welcome two
special guests, Trey Boggs, who is a descendant of a bootlegger, a modern-day
distiller, and co-owner of Palmetto Pride Distillery; and Brigid Fackrell, co-owner
of Rotten Little Bastard Distillery and a descendant of an Alcohol Tobacco and
Firearms agent who spent his career chasing moonshiners.
These special guests have family roots steeped in bootleg traditions, on both sides
of the law, who have successfully made moonshine a respectable part of our South
Carolina culture and heritage.
Michael DeWitt is the author of Wicked Hampton County and his new book The Fall of The House of Murdaugh will be released soon.
