Story Summaries:
“Midianites”
In the beginning the Johnsons didn’t call on Emma to midwife Peggy’s pregnancy, and she believed it was because of the string of deaths. The silence from the Johnson farm confirmed Emma’s suspicions. The whole county now saw her as the angel of death. A midwife lost a child or a mother from time to time—it was inevitable over the course of twenty years—but this menagerie of deaths, in less than a year, was another matter.
“The Starsick”
Something happened in Paradise, Arizona in the early nineteen-seventies that isn't spoken of today. The children of the town were captivated by an object in the sky which could not be seen by adults. One young man witnessed the event and lived to relate the story.
“It’s Your Turn to Wear the Mask”
A man decides to confront a strange figure who has been watching him and uncovers dark secrets about his past and his future.
Warning: The Wicked Library is a horror fiction podcast created for a mature audience. Our stories contain graphic descriptions of pain, murder, violence, blood, betrayal, and inhumanity; monsters win, people die, and hope is often shattered. There is also beauty, heart, catharsis, and raw emotion. Fear may be deeply personal, but we all share it.
If at any time a story takes you to a place too dark, turn on the lights, press pause, or press stop. And always remember, that unlike in the real world, these nightmares, and your participation in them, are under your control.
