The What Podcast is back with new thoughts on the 2023 festival landscape, and a brand new segment.

Building off last week's throwback interview with Ashley Capps, Brad, Barry, and Lord Taco are introducing High Five Clips, a segment that takes a five-minute or less look back at past shows and interviews. This week, they pull a clip from their 2020 conversation with Bobby and Sophie of C3 Presents in which they talk about booking the Plazas and EDM acts for The Other Stage.

Plus, the What trio tease what's coming from the show, and chat about some speculation for Bonnaroo 2023.

Saving Moon River: How the Festival Overcame a Sunday Rainout Sep 21, 2022

Barry and Lord Taco spent some time with the folks who turned a rainy Moon River Sunday into a memorable impromptu concert at a Chattanooga concert venue. It's a case study in timing, luck, thinking outside of the box and building relationships. In about two hours, organizers were able to move a half dozen artists and 3,000 fans to a city-owned venue. And, the staff showed up to make popcorn, too.

Moon River co-founder Drew Holcomb, AC Entertainment President Ted Heinig, and others join the show to discuss the memorable weekend.

Mat Kearney Talks Cover Songs, His Career Journey, and More at Moon River Festival Sep 14, 2022

Barry and Lord Taco attended the Moon River Festival along with Bryan Stone in Chattanooga this past weekend. Sunday could have been a disaster when heavy rain and lightning forced the event to end early and evacuate the park, but the organizers pivoted and were able to offer attendees an amazing indoor concert at a nearby venue at the last minute. This is a great festival success story in light of weather-related incidents from the past few years. Also in this episode, we sat down with Moon River performer Mat Kearney before his set on Saturday and find out which car all three of us used to own in the past.

After taking a few weeks off after this year's Bonnaroo, Brad, Barry, and Lord Taco are back and ready to look forward to next year's event. Brad has some booking must-haves on his list, including Rage Against the Machine (after seeing their recent Madison Square Garden run), The Wild Hearts (Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, and Julien Baker), and a Cee-Lo Green James Brown tribute SuperJam.

Elsewhere, The What Crew discuss the changes to and reduction of the festival landscape they've witnessed during 2022, and we learn Brad and Barry are not gamers as they discuss Lord Taco's Twitch channel.

While down at Bonnaroo this year, The What Podcast hosts Barry and Lord Taco got to speak with Briston Maroney for what is technically the Knoxville artist's third time on the show.

Following his That Tent show on Friday, Maroney spoke about what it means to be playing Bonnaroo -- especially as his father was in the audience this year for the Father's Day weekend set. He also touched on "that guy" in high school who always came back from The Farm wearing his wristbands until it fell off and the tan lines that remained like a badge of honor.
