What Is God’s Will for My Life? | The Well Podcast S1E7 May 20, 2024

Show notes

In this episode of The Well podcast, Pastor Phil, Pastor Jeremy, and host Les Norman tackle the question, “What is God’s will for my life?” Have you ever wondered what God’s will is for your life? God’s will is made known through His Word. His plan will differ for each person, but His will can be found in His Word. He has commissioned us to live sent and share the gospel with those around us. Every believer is called to ministry, but some people do it vocationally while others live on mission in their careers and daily lives. Before you consider a calling to ministry, you should think about where you are ministering and who you minister to in your daily life. You will never discover God's will for your life if you do not study His Word. God’s will is for us to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We are to take the gospel to the ends of the earth and fulfill the Great Commission found in Matthew 28. Only two things will last forever: the Word of God and the souls of men. How are you taking the Word of God and investing it in the souls of men? Insert link to Phil & Vala Long video Don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to get more videos like this to grow your faith! The 3 Elements of Saving Faith | The Well Podcast S1E6 May 13, 2024

Show notes

In this episode of The Well podcast, Pastor Phil, Pastor Chad, and host Les Norman talk about the elements of saving faith. In Hebrews 3, the author warns the ancient Hebrews not to doubt Jesus’ sufficiency. He reminds them of the Israelites who escaped captivity from Egypt. They had enough faith to get out of Egypt but not enough to enter the Promised Land! Although God constantly provided for them, the Israelites lacked the three elements of saving faith. They complained bitterly, doubted God’s promise, and disobeyed His commands. The Ancient Hebrews would have known this account well, and the illustration in Hebrews 3 would have been familiar to them. The call is not to harden your heart when God has delivered you from the law's condemnation. How do you do this? Ask for forgiveness for the apathy and complacency that consumes your faith. The 3 Elements of Saving Faith: Admit your disbelief and disobedience. Repent and be honest with God. Seek a community that will speak truth into your life. Faith is more than a feeling. It is obedience in motion. Saving faith in Jesus Christ will endure through tribulation, discouragement, and heartache. Do you believe that God will perform what He promised? Reflecting the Image of God | The Well Podcast S1E5 May 06, 2024

Show notes

In this episode of The Well podcast, Pastor Phil, Pastor Chad, and host Les Norman talk about God’s plan for man and how creation reflects His image. All creation, even those who don’t believe in God, demonstrate a need and desire for Christ. God desires that His image would be reflected in all His creation. He wants to be known, and He wants us to know Him. Once we know Him, He wants us to take Him to others so we can know Him too. The 3 Roles of Man: Reflect God’s image. Rule over the earth. Reject the Devil. God has a plan for man that was delayed by sin but cannot be destroyed by sin. The kingdom He had in mind when He created Adam will eventually become a reality. Until then, it is our job as believers to reflect the image of God to the world around us. Reflecting the image of God requires us to be firmly founded and rooted in the gospel. We must recognize what we’ve done wrong, accept Christ’s gift, and surrender our broken pieces to Him. Don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to get more videos like this to grow your faith! Receiving the Gift of Salvation | The Well Podcast S1E4 Apr 29, 2024

Show notes

In this episode of The Well, Pastor Phil, Pastor Chad, and host Les Norman discuss the difference between knowing about God and believing in Him. In Hebrews 2, the ancient Hebrews were drifting from their faith. Although they hadn’t rejected Christ and weren’t hostile to the gospel, they had neglected to respond to Christ’s gift of salvation. The nature of a drift is that it is subtle and slow, like a lazy river. In our culture, distraction and complacency often contribute to people drifting away from God. However, Jesus is throwing us a lifesaver to allow us to grasp onto Him as an anchor. That lifesaver is the gospel. We will be held accountable for whether we receive the gospel. When you allow Jesus to rescue you from the currents of this world and accept His gift of salvation, He will radically change your life. Do you believe that Jesus is someone you can anchor your life to? To be saved, you must surrender. If you are drowning in the currents of this world, surrender your life to Jesus. How To Know If You’re a Christian | The Well Podcast S1E3 Apr 22, 2024

Show notes

In this episode of The Well, Pastor Phil and Les Norman are joined by Clayton and Shari King from Clayton King Ministries. Clayton and Shari shared wins from the marriage conference they led at Abundant Life this past weekend and answered the question, “How do you know you are a Christian?

It’s easy to distort what it means to be a Christian. You can be wrong about many things, but salvation is the one thing you must be right about because you do not get a second chance at salvation after you die. Clayton shares 5 big misconceptions people have about what it takes to be a Christian:

Being baptized

Being born into a Christian family

Loving everyone

Being a good person

Going to church

God wants us to have confidence in our salvation. When you have confidence in your salvation, you have a different kind of confidence about your life.

It’s normal for a baby believer to wonder how to know if they’re a Christian and question if they’re saved. But at some point, you must settle that decision and have faith that Jesus will save you if you trust Him.

If you haven’t put your faith in Jesus, pray along with Clayton as he guides listeners in a simple prayer of faith to receive Jesus’ gift of salvation and eternal life.

Angels, Spiritual Warfare, and the Supernatural | The Well Podcast S1E2 Apr 14, 2024

Show notes

In this episode of The Well, Pastor Phil, Pastor Chad, and host Les Norman dive into what the Bible says about angels. How do angels reveal themselves to us? What do we know about spiritual warfare? Why is there a growing fascination with the supernatural? Angels can take on human form and a human body to carry out God’s will. They are God’s messengers and ministers. However, Satan and his army of angels also masquerade as angels of light. Their job is to deceive and turn our attention away from God and the truth. Satan has always wanted to be worshipped. The Bible says he masquerades himself as an angel of light to capture our worship and lead us astray. He and his angels work to hold people captive to their sins and separate them from God. There’s a growing fascination in our culture with the supernatural, but this infatuation can become idolatry. The fascination with the supernatural mirrors the spiritual warfare happening in the invisible realm as God and Satan battle for the souls of men and women. Learn what the Bible says about angels and spiritual warfare and how Christians should respond to the worship of the supernatural that is so popular in our culture.
