John returns to react to a loaded NFL Sunday, capped by Sam Darnold, Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings taking down Joe Flacco’s Indianapolis Colts 21-13. Middlekauff breaks down Sam Darnold’s impressive performance and wonders if there might be a quarterback controversy brewing in the Twin Cities between the former USC QB and first-round pick JJ McCarthy. Middlekauff goes off on how the position of quarterback is in a unique spot compared to the rest of the NFL’s skill players and details how Sam Darnold’s impressive performances could pose problems for former Michigan man JJ McCarthy when he returns from injury next season. Then, John gives Justin Jefferson the title as the NFL’s BEST Wide Receiver and explains why the former LSU national champion is at the peak of his powers leading a potent Vikings offense “built to win right now.” Next, John dives into the Detroit Lions dismantling Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. Middlekauff GOES OFF on Jordan Love and explains why pundits, himself included, might have anointed the Packers QB a bit too early, and compares him to legendary Green Bay QBs Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Next, John blasts Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence and Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams after another disappointing performance from both highly-touted QBs. After, John gives his thoughts on Tom Brady’s broadcast restrictions and how it affects the product when the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB cannot criticize poor officiating. Then, John eviscerates Matt Eberflus and the Chicago Bears after getting destroyed by the Arizona Cardinals and salutes Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders after another divisional win. Finally, John recaps the rest of the action around the NFL.
