Colin’s top takes of the week!
First, he’s joined by John Middlekauff, host of “3 and Out”!
They start with the draft evaluation for Shedeur Sanders and Colin argues that regardless of where he gets drafted, he’ll likely be the third best quarterback in his division and whether that analysis gets factored into his draft position (4:15). They dissect the Giants roster after signing Russell Wilson and whether it would make sense to pass on Shedeur and draft a different position of need (8:30).
John explains why a “high floor” isn’t really a thing when it comes to drafting whereas “high ceiling” is VERY real (12:45).
Finally, they look at the over/under win totals and make their predictions for who will over/under perform their expectations in Vegas. (16:00).
Then he’s joined by Jason Timpf, host of “Hoops Tonight”!
They react to LeBron’s comments on Pat McAfee’s show comparing NBA eras and explain why it’s completely pointless because of how much the game has changed (33:00)
They debate whether a dominant regular season will translate into playoff success for a young OKC Thunder roster, and whether they have a weakness that could sink them in a series (36:30).
Finally, they discuss whether there’s anything the NBA can do to avoid tanking when transformational talent is so easy to identify early and incentivizes teams to tank (42:00).
